My wife, 2 kids and myself took the plunge and decided to throw caution to the wind regarding the internet ratings of The Mexican Grill. Long wait times seem to be the big complaint.
Our visit was met with a courteous server named Deanna. Her constant smile and attention to detail is award winning! We had the California Explosion (half size)(allow 45 min prep) and the kids had the California Taco and fries. Kids loved their food and ours was the BEST! We were served our food within ½ hour of arriving, even given the fact of what we ordered. Others came in after us and were served before us but they were not getting the “CALIFORNIA EXPLOSION”!!
Why drive across the border to Mexican Village ($8.50 border crossing added to bill) and have food that sits in metal containers pre-made when you can go here and get FRESH, FRESH, FRESH made food?! In house tortillas made, homemade guaq, homemade salsa, homemade refried beans, homemade hot sauce, homemade burrito shells, best pulled pork, steak and taquitos, MAN, can’t say enough!! Bill for 4 people came to about $55 but gave tip of $12 since our service was SOOOOOOOO good. Our server made sure our water glass NEVER went below half full and always checked on us to make sure everything was OK.
I’m not sure why there are negative comments on the internet since our experience was 1st class from start to finish! Not only will we be back many more times but we have already recommended this place to all our friends and relatives!! Finally a top notch Mexican restaurant in Windsor.
Way to go, Mexican Grill!! Remember, NEVER succumb to the pressures of serving canned or readymade stuff, keep your ingredients FRESH and homemade, just like you’re doing, and let the food speak for itself!! If it takes a bit longer to get served because it’s FRESH, I’m all in!
Wish you the best in the future!
