Not Worth It
Submitted Sunday, March 14, 2010 - 11:56pm [Dine in]

There is nothing really special about this place other than its weird ambiance (which I haven’t quite made up my mind if it’s a good thing or bad thing yet). The price is absurd, and unreasonable. The food is decent but nothing to talk wildly about, especially for the price. The host/hostess are very friendly, unfortunately not the same can be said about our server. Our server was very unprofessional and very neglectful. The bottom line is, this place is not worth the hype. The only thing “decent” about it was its food, but it is not like it is so special that you can not get it anywhere else. For its price, I rather go to The Boathouse. I will not be returning to this place.

Nothing wrong with Ikea furniture
Submitted Friday, August 21, 2009 - 10:26am [Dine in]

HEY! nothing wrong with bright Ikea furnitures!!

That aside, I agree with the homey-ness! The service is solid, the husband gets the job done efficiently when it is not too busy but that as far as services go.

The food comes out very quickly and for the many times i have been there I have never had anything to complain about. It is not top quality food but for a snack-shack it is up there. I enjoyed everything I have had there. The fresh mango+grass jelly+sago is definitely one of my favorite all time desserts. The best part is it has "fresh" fruit in it so you dont end up feeling you are eating something unhealthy. The fresh mango slush is very very tasty as well!

The price is not cheap for the fresh items but it is acceptable. If you live close to the area and you are just looking for a small snack this is the place for you!

Something Different
Submitted Friday, August 21, 2009 - 10:12am [Dine in]

The restaurant was definitely authentic, if you are tired of the same California rolls that tastes all the same in every restaurant and want to try something more home-style Japanese food this is the place for you.

I had high expectations going into the restaurant since the reviews were on the restaurant were great. However, I didnt enjoy the Pork Cutlet Curry with egg on rice (which according to our server was their most popular dish). It was definitely something different, but my taste buds didnt quite like the different-ness.

The service was absolutely amazing, perhaps it was because we were the only table in the restaurant but it was absolutely amazing. It was definitely comparable to higher class restaurants (but then again, for the price i guess this restaurant is up there too).

The price was not desirable, for what I paid for I would much rather get a nice cut of steak. It really wasn't worth the money.

Bottom line is, this restaurant is something different and i would definitely urge anyone who likes Japanese food to try it.

Over-priced $$$$
Submitted Tuesday, August 11, 2009 - 7:17pm [Dine in]

The restaurant's atmosphere is amazing but unfortunately that is as far as the praises go for this place. The food is mediocre at best. Imagine Aberdeen food court quality food served in a better quality environment. In addition the food price is just too high to justify the quality. Basically, you are paying for the environment and atmosphere more than the food itself.

If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant with authentic, and classy atmosphere and don't mind to pay money for it this is the place for you. However, if you are looking for good eating or snacking food you might as well as just walk down the street and go into Bubble Fruity for a quick snack or heck Aberdeen.
