Being an avid Earls visitor through many years, I was ecstatic to learn the company had rolled open new doors in the Yaletown area. The other night I decided to gallivant over to this location for some delicious, delectable food and some fantastic drinks (which this establishment is known for serving). However, my visit and overall experience was atrocious at best.
First and foremost, the waitress took forever to bring our table the drinks we had ordered. On a Tuesday night with only a handful of customers, one would think such a feat would be possible within 5 minutes. Not the case. The food was bland and room temperature. I was far from pleased. I wanted to talk to the manager about quality control of the food, but by some miracle he had the night off.
The showstopper was at the end of the night when I wanted to leave the circus-act now known as Earls, my waitress was missing in action. I sat around for 15 minutes waiting for this ghost of an individual to appear. Failing to show up, I went to the front of the restaurant to converse with another waitress and asked if I could pay my bill. She shrewdly responded with, "Am I your waitress?!".
Consequently, such actions do get forgiven but not forgotten. I won't be returning to this location any time soon. The Yaletown Brewing Company next door is a much better decision with its amazing atmosphere, friendly servers and exquisite food.
