The two of us decided to finally get around to trying Fatburger .................
We are happy we did!
We both tried their "Traditional Burger" with all the trimmings.
Split a side of fries..................
It was plenty for a fast lunch on this Sunday afternoon.
Service was fine... and the place was 3/4 full.
(Biffy was Clean too.)
This will probably turn out to be one of our four "steady" restaurants ... particularly when we want fast service and a fair low price.
Wife and I for lunch.
Just passing and thought we would try it.
I am a Chinese Food Cook and Enthusiast.
We both ordered the Lunch Special for $8.95 each.
Ours Included Soup, Rice, and the House Special or Cashew Nuts Chicken.
We were both surprised at the high quality of the Soup= DELICIOUS!
As well as the main course.
NOT too hot, particularly when we realiaze that this is a Szechan Chef at work.
I will recommend this outlet to any and everyone I can!
Easily the best in the White Rock area!
Local advertising in our newspapers "pushed" me to the Pantry== and I am happy it did!
A NEW menu - and good choices.
The place was newly redecorated throughout.
Service was a smidge above expectations.
Food was GOOD, quantities more than adequate.....Served on HOT Plates!
All three of us were served at the same time.....this is a break through for many restaurants.
Prices were, if anything, a bit lower than expected, all things considered.
WE SHALL RETURN...............and OFTEN!
This is a walk -in and pick up outlet.
Everything is ready and hopefully, hot.
The choice is fine and quality is O.K.,.
Even the prce is O.K..
They are working for Price so you might find that the toppings are a bit skimpy,
and the crust a bit on the thin thin side.
All in all...........acceptable, but just.
TUESDAY the price drops to $1.00 per slice...and THAT makes it quite attractive !
Before my wife and I returned from our overnight stay in Chilliwack, to our home in White Rock, we decided to "risk it" and have breakfast at Earls.....the next door food outlet to our Quality Inn Motel.
WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE !
The B.C. "Eggs Bene" plate was PERFECT.....My Burger was NOT Overcooked and the fries were hot and crisp.
It was Saturday morning...but the service was still Fast and Friendly.
THIS should indeed be "The Flagship" Outlet for Earls!
Nothing fancy - just good solid food.
Wife and I had lunch;
Hot chicken sandwich with extra chicken n gravy.
Fish (2) n Chips.
Both meals came with cold slaw, etc..
Total bill was but $20.00
Not bad for 2011!
(This could very well be a late night "Place to meet your friends" type outlet, after hours - but that is another story.)
Wife and I passed through the grease covered door at 8:30PM on Tuesday July 13, 2010.
We quickly observed three dirty, cluttered, uncleaned tables that had been abandoned by past customers.
I stood in line and picked up 3 Burgers, a McChicken, one large and one small Fries.
There was No Catsup in the Catsup dispenser.....that area was CLUTTERED with shredded paper, dirty Catsup containers, etc..
The floor needed cleaning and trash picked up.
We ate our food.
The McChicken, my Wife reported, was the worst she had ever had.
We both agreed that the Fries had to much Salt.....You could taste the grit on your teeth!
I required more Catsup...but this time there were no little paper cups to dispense it in to!
NEVER AGAIN.
Next day I telephoned to complain and was given a LONG DISTANCE connection (Without being warned) to call in my complaint!
NEVER,NEVER AGAIN!
I just dropped in to have a Small Fast Coffee and I am Very Glad I did!
I Ordered a SMALL regular pressed Coffee and got a BIG CUP of Really GREAT and Strong for only $1.49 Including Tax.
Clean, Lots of room, Obviously a great place to meet friends.
Window seating, Tables at the back, or comfortable Easy Chairs.
Four of us were served immediatley upon entering the small but decorative restaurant.... we ordered THE BARREL of Fish N Chips.
$47.50 --and it FILLED us four big eaters !
We were given the Barrel, four ice waters, and a stack of napkins and headed the few paces across the street to a bench on the beach.
Possibly the BEST White Rock eating experience of the year (so far).
Service was super fast-- and the excellent food was ready in SEVEN MINUTES.
A menu with almost too many choices!
We had Sushi - 12 pices, and tea.
All for less than $20.00
Obviously this place is well known to the locals - we were seated almost immediatly but could see that the smiling faced customers were coming and going with great rapidity.
We will be back soon!
My Girl and I were presented two for one coupons that offered F & C .
Turned out we could oly get the usual old "Our regular fish n Chips" using this coupon. The usual F&C are battered Hake.
Adequate, but we tried to order Haddock or Halibut on the two for one offer...NO WAY!
The Server was a little over positive to the point that we were BOTH quite embarrased...like we were trying to get something for nthing!
I thin we will pass this outlet next time.
Wife and I both ordered the (Turkey) Schnitzel Dinner with all the fixin's. The most expensive plate on the menu at $11,95 per. The menu lists a choice of over 40 items. EVERYTHING TURKEY!
Breakfast from 9 to 11 am. Dinner servie ends at 6pm.
GREAT service, CLEAN, Fast...
As I said "Could be 'The find of the year!".
I dropped in for a fast lunch and found a goodly choice of Combination Lunches on menu.
I picked the S & S Boneless Spare Ribs over Steamed Rice and was served a goodly portion in very short order by a very pleasant smiling waitress.
The ribs were a bit greasy for my liking, but with the number of customers happily feeding at this time, I have to presume that I am getting jaded......or...... a lot of people are not overly fussy.
A small restaurant with a very fast turn over of customers.
This little outlet on Marine Drive -EAST BEACH are the new guys on the strip - so definitly try harder!
They have at least as many, if not more, choices of flavours than any other Ice Cream outlet.
They get daily deliveries from their supplier in the near town of YARROW. Coast Mountain Dairy Ltd. is famous in British Columbia for producing both variety and top quality.
As well as great service, and a fantastic choice of flavours, they charge one dollar less per cone than any and all of their competitors!
Yep! All 'round GREAT!
My wife and I are in the process of trying ALL of the Ice Cream outlets in White Rock. Deciding, if indeed, White Rock is TRULY the Ice Cream capitol of the West coast.
Gelateria Italia is so far the winner as far as Intensity of Flavour and Smoothness of product is concerned.
There are something like 35 flavours to choose from at Gelateria Italia.
We picked SPIMONI and CARAMEL.
BOTH were fantastic - but Caramel was the most desirable.
If you order in Italian == You will get an extra special smile!
We are now steady customers of Gelateria Italia!
At 4:00PM there was no line up - it was HOT on the beach.
We needed a treat.
My wife ordered a Black Raspberry Cheesecake Ice Cream Waffle Cone.
I ordered a Coconut Waffle Cone.
THIS is quite possibly THE BEST Ice Cream in the White Rock area.
I have never tasted a smoother more flavourfull product.
The young gentleman who served us was proud to advise us that they chop real cheesecake in to the ice cream base before cooling it down.
We arrived just after noon hour to find the restaurant about half full.
This is a downtown White Rock location (officially in South Surrey) so expected a line up.
We were seated and served in a timely manner - but once the food arrived -- the downer began.
I had ordered the NEW NEW NEW offering - a Super Big Burger with all the trimmings + Fries.
The best I can say was that it was without taste AT ALL.
My wife had ordered the Shrimp Sandwich plate and had much the same experience.
Sanitation was tops ..but I fear, we shall not return unless hard pressed.
Seems all the other customers were quite content..could be it was just us......but I doubt that.
I tried the Plain Chocolate Ice Cream because the White Ice Cream was already sold out....and it was only 11:30A.M. on this very warm Wednesday.
The Italian Speaking staff memeber (possibly the owner) advised me that they would be making some in the next 24hours so would be available again the next time I came by.
VERY friendly service..staff of three and no line up...
When we arrived we found a line up of about 15 hungry facecs.
We saw a menu with abut 20 choices of Ice Cream.
Each of the 20 available in a Small Cone, a Large Waffle Cone, or in a Dish with a spoon.
We both picked a Chocolate style Ice Cream in a dish to do out "testing".
Both products were above expectation.
We were through the line and served within four minutes- thanks to the five staff members who were Non stop busy - and Most courteous.
We WILL be back !
My wife and I dropped in to try out the Daily Special that was
advertised in their window. " Souvlaki @ $10.00"per.
Being bargain hunters we decided to "take the plunge".
We both ordered the special and were MORE THAN PLEASED.
Goodly portions, served with the usual Greek Salad and a potato.
Plenty of Pitta Bread too.....................
The Chef/Owner/Chief Cook made the rounds of the tables;
a very nice gesture.
WE WILL BE BACK.
