Valentine's Day
Submitted Wednesday, February 15, 2012 - 9:32am [Dine in]

We went to this restaurant last night for Valentine's celebration. They had a 3 course menu for $60. I personally do not think the food warranted $60 but since it was Valentine's Day I understand why it was so expensive.

The chairs are comfy but very old and need to be re-upholstered. The entire restaurant needs a face lift.

The service was not very good. Once we were seated we waited about 10 - 15 mins for someone to come by to take our drink order. The fellow we thought was our waiter actually wasn't and our waiter eventually turned up at our table. We placed our order and then waited and waited and received some bread...which was GREAT! Super warm and tasty. The wait between courses was too long.

The food was good. Not great but was good. The tenderloin was very thin but it was tender and cooked perfectly. The lobster was ok. Two tails, one was over cooked the other was cooked perfectly. We were at the restaurant for over 2 hours. I'm not complaining as I got to spend a great evening with my husband but the service was way too slow.....

There is a lot of competition for fish and chips on the beach.

I ordered the 1 piece cod fish and chips and the piece was HUGE. I couldn't eat the entire portion to myself (my dog gladly helped). The batter is amazing and the fish was very fresh. I heard the Halibut was even better....will try that next time.
Definitely recommend this for fish and chips on the beach!

Kerrisdale has too many sushi restaurants as it is. They are all average but this restaurant boasts to be the best in Kerrisdale. I don't think so. The food is ok. Not great but not bad...however, the prices are too high for the quantity and quality of food. Asa and Hachi are just as good for less money

I went to this restaurant on Saturday night. Made reservations for 6 people. We were put a table that seats 4 comfortably....need not say more about the comfort. The lighting was so dim that we could hardly read the menu! We had to use the candles at the table. We sat at our table for over 10 mins before the waitress came by to take our drink order...and that's only because I told her we wanted drinks!!!! Terrible service. The food was ok. The stuffed bread was more like pie pastry. Definitely lacked flavour. The seafood risotto was good. The pizza was HORRIBLE! had no flavour at all. I complained to waitress and she offered the fondue dessert on the house. That was the best dish on the menu. The bar area filled up as the night progressed and seemed to be more of a lounge/bar than restaurant which was good for the 30 - 40 something crowd. People were having a good time but I think it was due to the dj and the drinks.... Recommend this place for drinks and atmosphere...skip the dinner.

One of my favourite breakfast joints. The crispy bacon hash is tasty..although, the bacon could be a bit more crispy. The potatoes are pan fried and the food tastes like home cooking. Fresh ingredients and very good quality. Excellent coffee...Definitely recommend this restaurant. Gets busy so go early and they are only open for breakfast and lunch

For the past year I have been going to Toshi's once a week, sometimes twice. I have never been disappointed with my choices. The staff is very friendly and always remember me and my favourite dishes. The spicy agedashi tofu is amazing...and the house roll is a must. Be ready to wait for a table...and try to keep your group small. The larger the group the longer the wait for you and the other guests waiting to dine. The food is definitely above average...and the price is very affordable
