Honjin Sushi140 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver
North Vancouver you redeemed yourself.

I was feeling very cautious about eating sushi again in North Vancouver after last weeks sushi experience (see other North Vancouver review), but I decided to risk it. The outside of the restaurant is not their selling point, it looks like no one but the person who built it has ever cared for it. The inside is quite nice though and well taken care of.

The service was great, I was sat right away and they were pouring me tea before my coat was on the hanger. I made my order and the food started to come right away. Staff would come by and make sure I was happy, cleared my table as I was done with plates and refilled tea right away.

The food was good, I ordered mostly sashimi (Which tasted great and a good size as well) as well as a couple of rolls. The price is a little expensive, I think that may just be a by product of being in North Vancouver but everything I ordered was .75 to 1.50 more expensive than it is back in Richmond.

Overall I would eat here again when in North Vancouver.

Boston Pizza8100 Ackroyd Road, #50, Richmond
Fancy fast food.

I have gone to this boston pizza for years, mostly out of tradition rather than any real loyalty.

The Food: There is some good stuff here and I always come for the nachos with spicy chicken. People I know that worked here will not eat here though. There was some problem with rats and mold in the kitchen/cleaning area before the renovations (this may be completely cleared up).

Service: Service has always been excellent, I never have to wait, waitresses always very social.

Value: Pasta tuesday is great value, I would go elsewhere for pizza though.

Ambiance: Newly updated and the place looks great.

Danny's Wun Tun Restaurant11666 Steveston Hwy, #3050, Richmond
Good white man's chinese food.

My roomie turned me on to Danny's restaurant.

Food is good, but expect that they are aiming at a western market. Food is a little on the expensive side but its my guilty pleasure once in a while.

Staff is very friendly and seem to be socialy concious as well from conversations while waiting for my take out.

Will eat there again.

Writing this review makes me want to go back now.

I do enjoy a good subway sub..but for the best subs go to to Bob's, they way they pack on the meat and create your sub is great, they dont pull the meat out of little containers and then heat them up for you they actually have a kitchen on display where you see everything getting cooked up. Very fresh very delicious. My department at work has Bob's sub days where someone goes out and gets everyone subs.

Prices are very reasonable for what you get and you leave with the feeling that you didnt just get a sub off of an assembly line.

Ambiance is good, it has a very 70's feeling which i never really got an appreciation for since they ended when I was one years old.

Whenever I am in the area or at the mall I always stop by Bob's

This is a pub.
You get pub drinks and pub food.
Going into this place this should be your expectation.
I know its attached to a bowling alley however please dont bring your kids there. It takes the atmosphere away when I am sitting at the bar having a drink next to your kids.

With that being said, this is a great pub, the food is excellent, its nothing special but its exactly what i expect, some good burgers some good appys etc...and the prices arent bad. There are enough waiters/waitresses that if you ever need something somoene is close by and they are all very friendly. I am pretty sure our last waiter had a hard day because he took our drink orders, our food orders and then our drink orders again in the same visit.

The bar itself is great, its not sticky or smelly, everything is clean and in working condition. I go every couple of weeks to have a few drinks and then go see a movie. I have never had a bad time at this place.

Does not accept interact card only credit card or cash so make sure you are prepared for that. Interact machine is available nearby but try and avoid service charges by being prepared!

This restaurant has had some terrible reviews lately which has prompted me to add a review of my own.

I have been going here for the last year and a half. I love Japanese food and have had a chance to eat at quite a few places. Now when I feel like non late nite sushi I always eat here.

The food is excellent, each roll isnt packed with rice with a sliver of salmon like at some places. Nigiri always has a nice thick slice of fish on it.

I have never had a problem with cold food that is supposed to be hot or with frozen food that is supposed to be cold.

Prices are quite reasonable.

I tend to believe that people who have problems write more reviews than people who have no problems.

Now service is a bit rough, they take your order and only show up again to deliver, if you need anything be prepared to wave a lot. There is only one girl who is usually going to all the tables so on a busy day she is clearly overworked. This is what I have come to expect at asian dining though so I am never disapointed with that service.

Ordering out has always been on time or a short wait. I ordered a platter for work once and they forgot one of the rolls, I called the restaurant and they asked me to come back so they could reimburse me, no problems!
