Chinese restaurant called Vietnamese style?
Submitted Wednesday, March 13, 2013 - 1:35am [Dine in]

This location open about 1 year ago moved from another plaza

I hate to say but the Pho is terrible, IT is not a tradition vietnamese restaurant. I got a vietnamese 's friend, they said WEST LAKE 's beef noodle soup he never had it in vietnam

the steak is over cooked, i think it is good for some chinese people who did not know how to eat vietnamese food then.

Price is expensive

This location is better parking compare to the old location.

I came here 3 times during 1 year, but i think it is enough for me to try on this CHINESE restaurant called " Vietnamese style??)

Food ok, but left satisfied
Submitted Wednesday, March 13, 2013 - 1:22am [Dine in]

This was the restaurant of choice for a birthday celebrating friend. Having driven through to langley, so many times who knew a restaurant in that far area?

We were in for the Korean BBQ and accompanying sides. The pickled vegetables were particularly enjoyable. Our first couple of rounds of grilling meats were nicely marinated though subsequent orders came out bland, likely the dressing too watered down. The always delicious seafood pancake was again undeniably good, though the overpowering greasiness took over a bit too much of the taste. Maybe they should consider adding a side of napkins to sop up the oil that wasn't lucky enough to be absorbed by the pancake. The soup was ok though more appropriate as a stomach filler.

It was busy so the service was stretching itself through our visit. Still, the staff seemingly handled our rowdy crowd with fair ease.

You get the expected Korean BBQ styling so no surprises. It's loud all around, but not obnoxious. Another expectation you can count on is a change of clothes when you leave. This restaurant runs with the crowd, so all in all, we left happy.

Cattle Cafe3510 Kingsway, Vancouver
bubble tea place with decent food

bubble tea place with decent food

Cattle Cafe definitely does not sell "Chinese cuisine". It's a bubble tea place with what I think pretty decent Taiwanese or hongkong style food. I've been there with my parents and some friends. Everybody liked the food and the restaurant is bright and spacious. For the price that they are charging, i really don't have any complaints.

and if you want a place to sit down and chat with your friends, it is a good choice. It's big enough so there's never a line up and their bubble teas are very solid. I go to here all the time for casual meals.

Pho Hoa8500 Alexandra Rd, Richmond
expensive pho, MSG soup
Submitted Wednesday, March 13, 2013 - 12:58am [Dine in]

I used to go to pho Hoa many years when i want to have pho. But during this 6 months, their pho is so ...............................so ..............so bad.

the soup is like MSG add water.
The prices is so expensive compare to other pho place. their small bowl more than $ 8, the large amost $ 10.

Service: No service at all, its hard to flag someone down.

Ambiance: Weird but otherwise ok - good location, just not enough parking to share with many restaurants close by.

Pho Cao Van is better than pho Hoa for sure.

fast sushi
Submitted Wednesday, March 13, 2013 - 12:53am [Dine in]

We came here for a group of 4. Both times the staff are very bad services but the food here is ok. so so, good things is they don't let us wait, take out is fast ready to go. their price is definately not the most expensive. I've also had the yam tempura role and it is also delicious and filling. The portions are fair and its a way better alternative to buying food from the concession stand at the movie theatre. The perfect little sushi joint for a quick and delicious bite and its on the way to everything.

so far is ok. cheap food

I love going to this Hot Pot place for good and fresh food, you really get your money's worth, the soup base is good, you can choose 2 soup bases, not that oily and not too spicy.
They have a wonderful variety of everything from meat to seafood, and vegetables. Everything is fresh, the restaurant is small but very clean, and I especially like the service, the servers are prompt and attentive. My favorite dishes is always come ontime and make me happy when have dinner here. I always leave happy and satisfied,it definitely one of my favorite restaurants for hot pot!

Pho 99 Vietnamese Noodle House8611 Alexandra Road, #180, Richmond
“Place for Pho and Lemongrass chicken Lovers”Good price , good value !*
Submitted Friday, March 8, 2013 - 1:39am [Dine in]

My initial visit here in the early days suggests to me that its off to a good start.
I come to pho 99 richmond to try out with my family and friends for a few times. Yes, I love it !
They got many selections, even i come here every week for about 2 months now , i still have not finished trying all the menu items yet.
I like the House Special fried chicken wings are yummy, I love their Delicious Pho, and BUN BO HUE-spicy noodle soup, BO KHO –beef stew is very good too. I tried many different pho restaurants, but its not as good as Pho 99.I liked that the broth was not too salty but was flavorful enough to drink as a soup. Friendly services.
They got a great price too, with a combo included MAIN COURSE, APPRETIZER and DRINK less than $10, big portion. They got a rice combo with soup and drink for about $9.
you can create your own combo, it is the best way attract me return everyweek.
There were also some Viet Subs (with BBQ chicken, BBQ minced pork, Vietnamese ham) available priced at $3.95 very cheap. My mom always buy 10 or more for her co-workers almost every Friday.
As everyone knows, Alexandra road is very hard to find a parking. Another reason i like to come here because they HAVE A FREE PARKING at the back. Save my $$$$ for daily parking if i go to another pho restaurants in richmond at lunch or dinner hours. i saw numerous awards posted on the walls, and my girl friend introduce me with a few famous movie stars in hongkong and taiwan , sorry i didn't pay attention to her since i am very hungry and want to finish my lunch, hang back to work. I would certainly come back to pho99.
