So to ensure I didn't just get a one off bad experience at Cafe Barney's Main Street ( Granville now a nightmare after a bad experience with dreadful service from female waitress) my friend and I went to Cafe Barney's Main street this morning for brunch.
Lovely sunny chilled atmosphere, greeted by a female waitress and cheerfully told to sit any where for two.. made the mistake of looking like I was going to sit in an area reserved for 4.. when I was yelled at ( yes) from way across the restaurant " Not there ! somewhere for two !" So I said that I didn't appreciate getting yelled at on a Sunday morning and was told " I didn't think you had heard me " Really ? Not impressed at all.
What is it with loud obnoxious waitresses ? And why does Cafe Barney's seem to have so many ?
Is a little professionalism too much to ask for ?
Great service from the male wait staff and tipped accordingly. I love the food here, the atmosphere is chill and relaxed.. but early on a Sunday morning, give me a break dont be yelling at the customers and please an attitude adjustment would be a good thing...
Not sure I will return as not liking the service, and voting with my feet and wallet a probability.
I wish to also say that the service I recieved from Cafe Barney on Granville was poor. In fact the waitress was so rude to myself and my friend I have not been back since. I had been going to Cafe Barney regularly over many years on a Saturday morning, and we had ordered our brunch and 45 minutes later were still waiting.
Mentioning it to the waitress, got us a rude remark about how busy they were.
Not having enough staff is not a customers problem. I have not been back since then ( last year) and felt the need to confirm the writer of " Let Down" comment as not just a one off experience.
This morning I am going to the Cafe Barney's on Main Street for brunch and look forward to a better experience. I will report back.
