But maybe what my dining companion and I ordered were not the best things: mussels and smoked salmon plate. Other patrons ordered sandwiches and pizzas and they looked delicious. For $9.99 my dining partner ordered a "special concocted caesar" but did not amaze in the taste department. Save your money and order the classic caesar, it is still truly the best. Service was good. A good place for drinks and a view!
I love this place! Great ambiance and cute restaurant. I ordered the linguine w/ scallops and prawns in a tomato cream sauce and my friend ordered the seafood lasagna. The pasta comes with a caesar or garden salad to start and garlic bread. The flavours of the pastas were soo good! The tomato based sauce was tangy and coated the linguine well the scallops and prawns were cooked to perfection. The seafood lasagna was rich and heavenly. There was an adequate amount of sauce to use the garlic bread to sop it all up yum! The portions were a good size and we ended up with leftovers to take home. Value was great as most pasta dishes were around $16 including the salad and bread! Definately a new fav dining spot!
I took my cousin for dinner her on her bday. Ordered the usual ebi mayo, salmon sashimi, butter clam udon, and last but not least ebinira gyoza. All dishes were prepared well and tasted delicious. Service is pretty good no complaints. Prices are fair. Drinks are yummy. Overall a great establishment!
I had an amazing meal at this restaurant recently and to those people who are going to give this place a try...you will not be disappointed. First off the rice paper rolls (esp the Nem-Pork) and the Chicken and Taro spring rolls are soooooooo amazingly good! Normally rice paper rolls are chewy with a bit a crunch from the lettuce but these rice paper rolls are really special....just give them a try to find out! The spring rolls were juicy and really flavourful. Our group tried almost every item on the menu and seemed to enjoy everything. The basa fillet was delectable and the sauce that accompanied it was sweet and salty. The service was good no complaints here. I am going back for especially for the rice paper rolls!!! YUMMMMM
The dim sum at this restaurant is really excellent. Everything is so fresh and tasty. The har gow and siu mai are gigantic with juicy morsels of meat. The rice rolls are so delicious, freshly made with the best tasting rice wrap and the filling is just so sublime. The fried items are crunchy, hot, and not too greasy. I just love dim sum especially from Rich Ocean! The service is good and value is not too bad. I know there are other restaurants with cheaper plates but the quality is outstanding here!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Vij's for a friends bday. First of all I had no expectations entering this restaurant and was blow away by the end of my dining experience here. First of all, the food was just the most amazing part of the night. Ordered many dishes and they were all packed with rich, delectable flavours without being overpowering. Ordered some red wine to go with the meal and it was divine! Second, service was incredible! Water glasses were never empty and wine glasses were often refilled. Service here is top notch...The ambiance was nice, dim and cozy I especially liked the laterns throughout the room. Overall a delightful experience! Loved it!
My BF and I visited the Sandbar yesterday for a nice dinner. We were very impressed with the patio dining area where we were seated. The ambiance was great with a view and fireplaces around the dining area. Our server was stone cold with no smiles or warmth but she did the job right although she forgot to bring us our bread. Ordered the dragon boat platter to share and it included potstickers, wok squid, crab cakes, ribs, and wok chicken (b/c spring rolls were sold out) Overall, the platter was ok not awesome. The real stars of the show were our entrees my BF had the special steak and prawns and I had the swordfish accompanied with garlic mash (instead of rice) and asparagus. The steak was cooked perfectly charred for a great flavour. The swordfish was absolutely delectable with silcilan tomato, olive, and caper topping definately the highlight of our meal! I loved dining at Sandbar and plan to visit again and again!
Tucked into the corner of a small plaza you will find this restaurant. From the outside it looks dingy but inside it is impressive. The service is decent but you will not get smiles here. The value is good for the food and drinks and they have an extensive menu. Please note the spicy items are very spicy! I ordered the minced pork and tofu w/ rice and it was good but real spicy. If you can handle spicy you may like it! My bf ordered a beef and tomato noodle soup and it was really good! The tomato was stewed and flavoured the broth with a touch of sweet tomato flavour. I found the drinks to be too sweet although my bf's freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious! Overall a pretty solid place for late night eats!
My friends always have their birthday parties at this restaurant, they are good at accomodating large groups. Food here is really great and creative. Usually order the fresh oysters, samurai roll, and udon. Tried the chicken skewer with cod roe mayo but that was boring and burnt. They have a list of their most popular menu items so choose from that if you need help. Drinks are awesome here and they have some cool combos. I usually order the white sangria (boring) but really delicious with the food. Service is just good...great. I noticed the price of items have gone up by a few $ so the value is only decent for me. Ambiance is cool and hip, a great social spot! Give it a try!
Took my bf for dinner at this restaurant and it failed to meet our expectations. Our food was not good at all. My bf's duck risotto was too salty, my ravioli was bland, our appetizers beef carpaccio and satays were mediocre. I think it was an off night as the reviews for this place seem pretty good. Service was slow but good and ambiance is nice. Overall it's not somewhere I will go again for food, but maybe for drinks in the lounge area.
two words...CHOCOLATE CAKE! OMG this stuff is to die for! The chocolate cake or even the cupcake is truly a decadent dessert. It is not too sweet and the ganache icing is really rich without being too heavy. The fresh blueberry tart was sensational with a creamy custard filling and fresh, sweet blueberries. I also tried the banana bread and it was good as well. As for the food, everything looked freshly prepared and I picked up a wrap to go...tasty but not the best. Overall, go for bakery it's delish!
I love mexican food so I was happy my boyfriend brought me here one sunny evening. Ordered the 3 tacos for $6.99 and had a choice of 3 meats: steak, chicken, and fish. I choose all three. You get to choose from Shack style (includes mild/hot sauce, salsa, guacamole, shredded cabbage) or Mexican style (mild/hot sauce and onions) I choose the shack style and was served three fresh and delicious tacos. The steak and chicken tacos were tasty and moist and the corn tortilla had a nice authentic flavour. The fish tacos were my favorite and it was drizzled with a chipolte mayo sauce that complemented the fish well. Overall the food was delicious. Service was not so great. There were no smiles and attitude among the workers. The food preparer making my tacos mindlessy threw on the toppings to my tacos and forgot to add some toppings as well. I asked for a side of shredded cheese and was given a small container with a huff. Maybe they were all having a bad day? Overall I would visit again b/c I love mexican food.
yum! This restaurant serves up decent home cooked style korean fare. Ordered seafood pancake, spicy pork bbq, sweet & crispy chicken. The seafood pancake was too doughy, the spicy pork bbq had great flavour but a bit greasy, the chicken was delicious! Also got the side dishes and they were really good! You get the sweet potato, bean sprouts, pasta salad, and kimchi. Prices were okay a bit high I thought. Overall a solid dining experience.
If you are looking for a great value, especially for lunch, this restaurant is a great choice. I haven't had the dinner menu but it seems as though dinner prices are of a good value as well. I went for lunch and had the chicken with black bean sauce on rice and a mini hot and sour soup. This meal only set be back $8. The food tasted good enough, not the best but good. It only took 10 mins to get my food and it was hot and fresh. There was a little too much vinegar in my hot in sour soup though. Definately will visit this restaurant again for lunch!
I did not really have high expectations when dining out at Italian Kitchen because of some of the reviews. Food was okay shared the antipasto platter with my brother some hits and misses on the platter. Some menu items were overly salty and some quite bland according to the rest of friends. Service was not that great, our server rushed us and did not come by to check up on our table at all. The ambiance of the restaurant was quite nice. Modern, sleek, and a nice concept. The washrooms were nice as well. Overall Italian Kitchen lives up to the poor reviews.
Waited about 15 mins in the line up which was not so bad considering it was around 7:00pm. The restaurant was bustling inside and all the patrons seemed to be enjoying their meals. Ordered a couple appetizers and the soulvaki dinners. The food was fresh and the flavours were good! Try the meatball appetizer it's pretty good and really filling! I ordered the small chicken soulvaki and it was actually a pretty big portion couldn't finish so I packed it for lunch the next day! Service was pretty good, our food came fast and waters were refilled often. Overall a good dining experience I can see why people line up!

Food was pretty delicious! Everyone got to try a sampling of each others dishes and everyones reaction was yum!

Don't expect great service but expect good comfort food.
Try the congee it is really good. I always order the same thing here rice rolls, deep fried bean curd, and congee.
They have another location on Joyce and Kingsway called Congee Noodle King that serves the same food.

Loved loved loved it here! I love Singaporean/Malaysian cuisine so I was delighted to come across this restaurant.
Ordered the roti prata, tofu goreng, beef satays (2 skewers), and chicken platter. OMG everything was to die for! Roti prata was flaky, crispy, and buttery good.The tofu goreng was also crispy and complimented by a sweet peanut sauce and garnished with bean sprouts and shredded cucumber what a dish! The beef satays were good just your straightforward meat on a stick. Prawn laksa was delicious I have never had laksa before but so glad I did! The noodles were al dente and the broth so delicate yet rich! Lastly, the chicken platter was the highlight of the meal delicious hainiese chicken with ginger and chili sauce and the crispy chicken with dark sweet soy sauce it came with chicken scented rice and a bowl of soup. YUM!
Service was good and servers were polite and smiling!
Ambiance is clean, bright, and very modern. Loved the booth banquettes and cool plush chairs.
Tried Tamarind Hill for the first time and I loved it!
Had the roti canai, clams in coconut curry sauce, and prawns in garlic ginger sauce. Wow delish! So many flavours melding together in the sauces they prepared with the food.
Service was really good, it was a packed house and only 4 people serving but all the customers seem to be content and enjoying their meals. Beverages came speedy when asked for.
Ambiance was good the restaurant is painted in nice colours and the light fixtures are pretty.
Overall a wonderful experience I can't wait to go back and try the hainese chicken it's really beautifully presented!
