Stepho's Greek Taverna1124 Davie St, Vancouver
best price. awesome food
Submitted Tuesday, September 23, 2008 - 2:14am [Dine in]

The wait for stepho's sometimes is very long but well worth the wait. I always order the calamari dinner and it is the best i have had at any greek restaurant. The portions are huge and the calamari is very crispy and tastes like it marinated with garlic. My boyfriend always orders the kleftiko and this is his favorite out of all the greek restaurants, they actually stuff it with chunks of garlic. I find that the bread and greek salad isnt the greatest but you dont come to stepho's for bread you come food the main course. I am surprised how quickly your food arrives much quicker then a restaurant that may not even be busy. This place always has a long wait and it is for a reason i love this restaurant the prices are dirt cheap and the food is the best!

I cant believe anyone saying the price is ridiculous?? my boyfriend and i ate here he had 3 pieces of fish and chips and i had the two piece with fried shrimp and we both had caesar salads. Our bill ended up being under $20. Also on wednesday night it is all you can eat fish n chips for $8.99 how can that be expensive?? Out of all the places i have been to in white rock this place is by far the cheapest. The portions are large and the service is very quick i would eat here again.

Coney Island Seafood15487 Marine Dr, White Rock
best fish n chips i have ever eaten!!

This is the first time i have ever come here for fish n chips and it is absolutely the best i have ever had in my life!! I have also tried many places and this place has the crispiest best tasting fish. T he only down side is you do have to pay 75 cents for the tarter sauce but it is a large portion and it is home made and very good, cant get much better tarter sauce. I cant believe the review that says there are better fish and chips and cheaper??? everywhere else the prices are the same and if you go to the boathouse the portions are small and costs $20. Who cares that you dont get a lemon wedge and have to pay 75 cents for tarter sauce have to be pretty cheap to complain about that. The fish here is the best on the strip and portions are huge i will come back here and only here for now on.

Kyoto Sushi13651 72nd Avenue, Surrey
been here at least 20 times

I am very surprised at the horrible reviews for this place. I have been to Kyoto sushi at least 20 times and will continue to come back. I love Japanese food and have been to the few other restaurants in Surrey and restaurants in Vancouver, i have not found a place with as good as value and the quality of the food. I do not know what people are expecting for $10 this is not a fancy uptight restaurant this is a family owned restaurant and the owner is in everyday and she trys to make her customers happy. She now knows my boyfriend and i and almost evertime we go in she stops and talks to us. She also is always giving us something for free. We have gotten free beer, sake, tempura and desserts. No where else is a place going to care for their customers as she does. This is one of the few sushi restaurant were you get free miso soup, free tee and also always fresh fruit at the end of the meal. As for the food being reheated that is false!!! when the teriyaki chicken is done there is steam coming off of it and i love the tempura it is the best i have had by far. The bento boxes are very resonable and very tasty. Sometimes the service is a bit slow and that is because it is also packed and a lot of take out deliveries. As for the whole coupon situation the best thing to do is to give it to the waitress as soon as you order, many other restaurants not only this one will not take the coupon after they have already printed out the bill. A lot of the times when i go here i recononize a few of the same customers who seem to always be there.Like i said before i have been to many sushi restaurant and this is by far the best value and best tasting food, they won number one restaurant in surrey for a reason and yes there are other sushi restaurants in surrey to! I have been here many times and i will keep coming back.
