Yamato Sushi616 Davie St, Vancouver
Fantastic rolls!
Submitted Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 1:36pm [Dine in]

Yamato Sushi is a great restaurant in Yaletown!

The special rolls are so incredibly tasty, and the portions are huge. I went with my cousins, and we each ended up spending about 8 dollars each for a very filling dinner.

Service was a bit slow, and the waiter had a little trouble with understanding English.

There are accurate photos of the special rolls posted on the walls. All of them look so DELICIOUS and CREATIVE!

The only other downside is that the restaurant is absolutely tiny!! My remedy is to go there earlier than most people go for lunch or dinner.

I definitely recommend this sushi restaurant! Can't wait to go back there!

Favourite Ramen place in Downtown Van!
Submitted Thursday, May 27, 2010 - 1:20pm [Dine in]

This restaurant is always full of energy!! The place is well decorated and the wait times are not bad at all.
The service is quick and the waiters are very friendly. The menus are easy to understand and I appreciate the detailed descriptions of the different ramen bowls. It's always difficult to choose which bowl to order!!

I love the food - it's so tasty and filling! The soup tasted great, and the noodles were just right!
I highly recommend this place to anyone craving ramen! :)

Ali Shan Restaurant4500 Kingsway, #1233, Burnaby
My Go-To Restaurant in the Metrotown area
Submitted Friday, May 7, 2010 - 12:25am [Dine in]

I was recently introduced to this restaurant by a friend who works in Metrotown (across the street). Since then, I have come here to eat every time I go shopping at Metrotown. This place is a little difficult to find - it's tucked away in a little corner of Crystal Mall. The decor could use some work, but you won't think about that when you start eating the delicious food!

The place is really tiny, so I really wish they could expand the restaurant. Other than that, the food and service are both great! Great value!!

My absolute favourite dish here is the Japanese curry rice omelet. Curry fried rice that's wrapped in a thin layer of egg, and topped with sauce. Delicious beyond words!! The satay beef noodles are also amazing. Authenic, and easy on the wallet. Each dish is around 7 dollars, I believe.

The service does slow down when there are a lot of patrons eating there (rush-hour). Expect to wait if you arrive without reservations at lunch or dinner time...

But overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ali Shan. Two thumbs up! :)

Pearl Fever Tea House3025 Lougheed Highway, Unit 340, Coquitlam
Best bubble tea in Coq. area!
Submitted Friday, May 7, 2010 - 12:13am [Dine in]

Every time I'm in the area, I choose Pearl Fever for bubble tea! It is a really popular drink shop, especially in the evenings and weekends. I have watched their store evolve and form an identity for themselves over the years.

I really love the bubble tea there. Perfect pearls every time. They have all of the classic flavours, and some unique ones, too. Drinks made with fresh fruit are clearly indicated on the menus.

Now, they also serve amazing cheesecake!

The service has always been quick and friendly. They have never screwed up my order before, which is great!

Deer Garden Restaurant3610 Westwood Street, Port Coquitlam
Quite possibly the best restaurant ever.
Submitted Friday, May 7, 2010 - 12:07am [Dine in]

We used to call this place our family restaurant, since we would visit at least once every 1-2 weeks (for over 10 years). Since we moved to Vancouver, we haven't been to Deer Garden in a while, but we still have very fond memories!!

You absolutely cannot go wrong here! We have probably tried everything on the menu ;)
The portions are large, and the food tastes incredible. Our favourites include the hai-nan chicken, curry beef, spicy pork, king crab, fish, and any one of their tofu dishes.
Both the dinner and lunch menus are impressive! The place is usually packed on weekends, and you'll definitely have to reserve for special occasions.

The servers are quick and efficient, and the food comes to the table incredibly quickly.

To be honest, Deer Garden isn't aiming to be the trendiest restaurant. There are no fancy decorations and that sort of thing, but the food is great!

Bonqula is a hidden treasure!
Submitted Thursday, May 6, 2010 - 11:55pm [Dine in]

I went here with a group of friends, and we were all very impressed by this restaurant. The dining atmosphere was very comforting and home-style...

The servers were really knowledgeable about the menu, and they were super friendly.

The food is simply amazing. Everything was presented in a very fancy way, and it tasted even better than it looked!

This place is perfect for dining out on special occasions. I definitely recommend Bonqula to anyone wanting to try Japanese fusion cuisine :)

Wang's Beef Noodle House8390 Granville Street, Vancouver
My favourite beef noodle place!
Submitted Thursday, May 6, 2010 - 11:48pm [Dine in]

I really love this place, and so does the rest of my family! I come here to have a bowl of beef noodles after my late night study sessions. They serve a lot of good "comfort food."

The food there is tasty, quite authentic, and very flavourful :)

As with many Asian restaurants, do not be deceived by the restaurant's bland decor... after all, it's the food that really counts, right?

Impressive restaurant :)
Submitted Thursday, May 6, 2010 - 11:41pm [Dine in]

I recently went to Red Door with a couple of friends to try out the Dine Out 2010 menu.

Overall, we were extremely pleased with the food and service! The servers were very cheerful and friendly. The food was very flavourful and delicious! We sampled 4 different appetizers and shared 4 different dishes :)

The place is a bit on the pricier side, but it's perfect for special occasions. You won't be disappointed!!

"Diva" is my favourite cupcake! I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who hasn't tried it yet~ There are tons of flavours to choose from, and they always new ones for special occasions.

The interior of the store is so adorable. It's all pink and sophisticated!
