Pico Bello Trattoria & Bar8556 120 Street, Unit 101, Surrey
A nice surprise
Submitted Saturday, April 12, 2008 - 11:39am [Dine in]

My wife and I stopped in at Pico Bello for a quick pre-movie dinner the other night, and we were pleasantly surprised. After being initially nervous based on the strip mall location, that nervousness was quickly put at ease by the friendly welcome. With only one other table in the restaurant our service was cordial and unobtrusive. As for the food I must agree with the previous review that the stracciatella soup was fantastic easily comparable to any of the high-end downtown Italian restaurants. I had the veal cannelloni which was served in a rose sauce with a hint of rosemary. It was nice and hot, full of flavour and not too heavy. My wife had the tortellini with prosciutto and peas and finished the whole plate a compliment in itself, as she never finishes meals. We headed off to our movie very satisfied but not over stuffed and very pleased with our find of this great little restaurant. We will defiantly be back to Pico Bello.

Outstanding Dineout Experience
Submitted Thursday, January 17, 2008 - 2:02am [Dine in]

We went to Monk's tonight to try out the Dine Out offering. We were not disappointed. The braised lamb starter was full of flavor and the perfect size. The pork entree was cooked to perfection and the black cod was also very nice. The service was attentive and unobtrusive. We were surprised that the place was not busier. A highly recommended dine out option.

Average at best

Two friends & I went to the Mill for a drink and bite the other night, the food was dissapointing to say the least. Pulled pork sandwich was dry, beef dip was average I've had better at neighbourhood pubs and the lettuce wraps while a good idea were boring and flavourless. The service was solid though a bit uninspired. I would think twice before returning to the Mill.
