Food was decent, but the wait time is too long. A person sitting at the next table complained to the server and just walked out after waiting forty minutes. We had the AYCE menu. We put in our first order, then realized that only 90 minutes was allowed for AYCE, so we put a second order in. Nothing came yet, so we put in a third order. The food that came first was from the second order. We couldn't keep track of what we had ordered and what had arrived. We put in a fourth order.
Service- our server was helpful
Value - Each order (e.g. California Roll) was for the PIECE, so you have to order four to get a full roll.
Ambiance- There was no air-con and it was a very hot night.

Like many chinese-operated restaurants, service was very poor. (We had also visited the one in Kerrisdale, and service was similarly poor)
We had a large group and were seated at a corner. We ordered from the a-la-carte menu (instead of AYCE). Our food took more than an hour to arrive. We tried flagging down wait staff, but no one came to our corner. When we finally flagged a wait staff, it turns out that our order was never entered.
Seems like they were too eager to promote their AYCE menu and ignored us because we ordered a-la-carte.
If you want Japanese food, don't go to ANY Chinese-operated restaurants.
