I was a regular customer (past tense)
Submitted Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - 3:11pm [Take-out]

Aside from the heavy amounts of MSG which is in the food, the taste is good, and the value is about standard. .

I have been visiting this location since periodically 2003.

Today i came for lunch (after the lunch rush) and they were out of many of the dishes.

i usually order 2 entrees plus rice.

Since they did not have enough for 2 entrees, I ordered one entree plus rice - which I was told there wasnt enough of that one entree so she offered to top it up with another entree. ( to make it a complete order of 1 entree plus rice)

They insisted on charging me for two entrees. I explained to them, that is not right. I eventually talked them to reducing the price by one dollar only. (it is $7.49 + tax for 2 entrees plus rice regularily)

They lost all of my business (lots of money over the years), because they insisted on nickle- and diming me over this very small issue.

I will tell my many co-workers and colleagues about my experience, that is for sure!

It cost alot less money to retain customers than to attract new ones. However- they wouldnt even have had to spend any money in this case- their option was to not overcharge a regular customer, which they insited on doing! good bye MSG,

their greek food is good! their pasta isnt..

One can do no wrong hitting up Banwan's for Greek.. however, from what I've tried of their pasta, it's bland like the other person said. The staff is always friendly and courteous.. I've been eating here for years, and will continue to give them my business. The value is decent for what you get.. The portions are big.. Thumbs up.

Thai House Restaurant1766 W 7th Avenue, Vancouver
Blown Away by the speed of delivery! However....
Submitted Wednesday, February 17, 2010 - 1:37pm [Dine in]

I haven't been here for a couple years, but I frequent all of the Thai house restuarants in the VYR, as well as urban thai, and the new one (forget the name.. it's expensive one)

Last weekend I ordered delivery- I was FLOORED by how fast it was. I live in kits, but it was literally 12 minutes!

I was a bit suspect of this.. (I thought maybe our food was already sitting around for hours) then confirmed my suspicions as we dug into out food.

The green curry didn't seem like it had any fish sauce at at all. The pinapple fried rice, tasted old, and burnt, honestly the worst fried rice I have ever tried.

All other thai house locations never let me down, but I was amazed of how poor quality the food was. I think the owners should pay special attention to the one weak link in their mighty vancouver restaurant franchise.

It's good!

I have never been blown away here, but they are like a toyota tercel - very reliable.

There are definitely better thai restaurants that have more authentic flavors, however, they always produce for me (customer of 2 years).

The food, although not out of this world, is far superior to thai house in kits, so thai spice gets my business for delivery and take out. The place turns into a bit of a gong show if they ever get busy, but they are so slow most of the time, I doubt it would make sense to hire more people.

The prices are definitely competitive, and the value is great. This palce will contnue to get my business.

Worst greek food i Have ever tried

Not only was ther service snooty, the potatoes and bread were rock hard, and cold. I went there for lunch at around 1:15- after the rush, though I don't think thats a great excuse to serve sub par food. The chicken shawarma was also cold and tasteless, and had been sitting in a metal tray (not on the spit.

It could have been a complete fluke, and possibly it was an off day for them, but I wont go back to find out.
