Boathouse Restaurant, The900 Quayside Dr, New Westminster
Great seafood, but expect to unload your wallet to buy it
Submitted Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - 11:03pm [Dine in]

The Boathouse is situated on the Fraser River. It's definitely a romantic place for dinner. The seafood is good, although the portions could certainly be larger. I really like this place as a special occasion dining place - although I definitely can't go more often than once a year because of the very high prices.

Amelia Cafe538 Sixth Street, New Westminster
Standard Greasy Sppon but can't beat the prices
Submitted Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - 11:00pm [Dine in]

If your wallet is the biggest concern for you when buying breakfast, this is a great place. Much better prices than IHOP or one of those chain breakfast places. It's a typical greasy spoon place which means that it isn't too pleasing aesthetically. It's a good place to go once in a while, but as is typical of greasy spoons, the food is greasy, so don't go too often.

Burger Heaven Restaurant77 10th Street, New Westminster
A real home-style burger place
Submitted Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - 10:57pm [Dine in]

Generally, when I go out to eat, I generally don't go to burger and fry type places because that is the stuff I can make at home easily. However, Burger Heaven brings me back because of its creative burgers such as the Teriyaki Burger and its well-seasoned potato wedge. The tables are really cool with photos of guests who have visited the Burger Heaven - including some really hilarious ones from the 1980's with people rocking mullets. The only downside is that the prices are not cheap. Worth a visit!

You gotta love a restaurant with a caboose in it. It has a great ambience and great value. The food is good, not great, but it's a nice place to go with friends. The endless bread is a great appetizer and very tasty in itself. The line-ups to this place on the weekends are testimony to its popularity. It is also convenient to the skytrain station in this rapidly improving neighbourhood.
