Good enough to come back

I was brought there by a friend of mine who frequents the place quite regularly. He and his friends like the food there. On this first visit, my impression of the place was "unfinished", decor was sparse. By that I don't mean "minimalist". The booth seating along the wall was nice and comfortable. However, I can't say the same for the rest of the tables and chairs. Basically, it's nice on one side with the booths, and then it's cafeteria on the other by the windows. The carpet added to the cafeteria feel. The place was clean though I must say. We ordered beef brisket curry which was good and sufficient, (not the South East Asian kind and I expected that so), and we shared the fried chicken wings with onion rings. My friend liked them more than I did. They were good but not impressive.
As for the service, we were greeted by a few servers and managers as we entered as well as when we were leaving. Could it be that the place wasn't busy when we were there? Although a bit on the pricey side (for a HK style fusion restuarant), the steaks were highly recommended by my friend. I didn't try so I can't comment on them. However, if I want good steaks, I would definitely not have them at any chinese/Hk style places such as this one.
All in all, I probably will come back if I were in the neighborhood.

I'd lost count how many times I had driven by this place. One day I just decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. My friend and I orderd, Mee Goreng, Lontong, and chicken curry with noodles. They were all yummy. We sat by the open windows on a sunny day. Ppl walking up and down at times staring at our food, car exhaust filled the air but we didn't care. It was fun and surely brought back memories of eating at food stalls in s.e asia. What we had ordered was good. Don't go if u expect fine dinning or fancy decor. It's a tiny place for no frill quick eats and good food (at least for us it was). I would definitely go back again and again until I have tried everything on the menu. One thing I told myself as i was eating that I would put down here was that - they need new chopsticks. That was my only complaint.

I had not been back to this place for many years and for some reason I was so craving for Nasi Lemak that day. My friend had the pineapple fried rice. Rice was a bit bland but acceptable. However, the pineapple shell looked as if it had been used before. I had the rendang beef instead of Nasi Lemak simply because it had shrimps and squids in there, both I'm allergic to. Anything "seafood" on the menu pretty much has shrimps and squids. Rendang beef was quite good but needed more salt. Being from SE Asia myself, I found the food acceptable depending on what you order I guess. However, what happened later made us almost puke. I went to the washroom, a waiter came in to use the toilet. After I came out my friend went in there. Later, he told me the waiter just walked out without washing his hands. I told him he must be kidding because the waiter was in there for No. 1!!! I would never go back to eat there again. I know we dont' see what goes on in the kitchen but seeing this for ourselves and how ignorance this waiter was simply ruined our otherwise decent lunch.
