Wow! I have never encountered such cheap, bad service before! We asked for a small sample of the sweet and sour pork (which is normal + other places happily oblige), and after digging around in the tray for 20 seconds to find the smallest possible piece for us to sample, the woman hands over a half centimeter piece of the dough part on a toothpick. Hungrily we just thought forget it, and ordered it anyway. She just sloppily slapped our 3 entrees on the plate and my curry entree just had 3 pieces. These bitter women were so CHEAP and visually miserable without provocation, it was incredible anyone would want to hire them. The food was overly oily, and had more fatty pieces than any other chinese fast food joints I'd been to. The sweet and sour pork was all dough and very misleading, because it looked great on display, but almost contained no meat! This is by far the worst chinese fast food place I've been to, and I was born and raised in Hong Kong. In conclusion, sub-average food, poor value, and the two girls/women working here never smiled once the entire time we were in the Granville Island market.

I went to Mediterranean Grill today to get a chicken shawarma plate for takeout, and I noticed something that flabbergasted me! The older woman working there put the rice in a styrofoam container and MICROWAVED it for almost TWO MINUTES!! I was so ASTOUNDED at their ignorance of this, as I assumed it was common sense and general knowledge that microwaving styrofoam releases toxic chemicals, not to mention it'll MELT. To make sure it wasn't my dish being microwaved, I asked the woman not to microwave mine, then politely informed her that those plastics CAN'T be microwaved because it'll release chemicals. My intention was to educate her, so they wouldn't POISON more fellow customers, and to help them improve their business. She just snubbed me off rudely, and never smiled once. When I went up to pay, she whispered something to the older man (boss?) at the register and walked away angrily. Glaring, the man then rudely slapped my change on the table, even though my hand was clearly extended. Worst customer service EVER, even though I only had good intentions. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
(As for food – chicken overly oily, dill rice flavorless, iceberg lettuce salad was cheap/lacking = overall imbalanced portions)
