I'm always on the look out for places that are open on a Sunday morning that serve breakfast, as opposed to a late morning brunch.
I'd heard about Heron Rock via a few friends, and I'm glad I listened. I ordered the regular 2 eggs, bacon, hashbrowns & toast breaky, while my dad had the 3 eggs, bacon & ham w/ hashbrowns & toast. The eggs were delicious with a bright orange yolk. Bacon was thick sliced, and had nice flavour. The sausage seemed to be a british style, with a celery/pepper seasoning (which is a nice chance over those flavourless breakfast links most places serve). The hashbrown were panfried with some caramlized onion, but without much other seasoning. The sourdough toast had a bit of a bite - the only thing we were missing were jam for the toast, but at that point I was so full I didn't care. I'll be back again to check out their omelets soon.
And after looking at the rest of the menu, I'll def go back to try out their chef's dinner special.

I love this place. It's got such a good selection of brews, both on tap and bottled. It's one of the few places we can get large groups to agree on.
They have mini-burgers (beef, lamb & veggie) that get thumbs up. My personal favs are the lamb burgers, but my veggie friends tell me that the veggie burgers are surprisingly delicious for pub food.
The pizza special changes daily, and I've yet to be disappointed.

I've been to most restaurants in town that offer breakfast on a Sunday morning, and Floyd's is right up there in my top two.
They offer a wide variety of choices, and the food is delicious, consistently. Their BC Hash is a favourite of mine. The half order fills me up until dinner. If I haven't been grocery shopping in a while, I get the full order and pack home the leftovers.
Double your pleasure is also tried and true - great for when you can't decide between bacon, ham or sausage.
Being a fan of basted eggs, which can be tricky, I will give Floyd's two thumbs up as they've been served perfectly every time.
Staff are always in a good mood and can make recommendations. If you like to doodle, bring a sharpie and add your mark to the decor.
