Have not written a review for sometime but Lava gets my vote. This restaurant gets better and better. Have been dropping in for dinner at the Lava now and then since July of last year. Have tried other restaurants in Maple Ridge for dinner in the past but my husband and I keep coming back to the Lava. It is the best in Maple Ridge. We have just found out that the Chef, Chris and the Manager, Robert have taken over this restaurant. The food and service has improved immensely and is most impressive. We now visit Lava every Sat night.......a most relaxing enjoyable evening with light music playing in the background. I have tried just about every starter and entree on the menu. Each one is most tantilizing and mouth watering. Presentation is supberb and always a surprise. Both Chris and Robert as well as their staff always make our evening special. You are never made to feel like you are just a another customer coming in the door to have a meal. There is a special quality about this restaurant and its owners that makes Lava a great dining experience from the time to enter this restaurant establishment until the time you leave. You feel like you have just had dinner with friends. I have also just recently started visiting Lava for Lunch . Again, a great lunch, super service and fast.... if you are on the run. Not satisfied - Very crowded and very noisy for a fine dining restaurant. Was not impressed. Could not hear ourselves speaking to each other. Food was just o.k and was expecting more from this restaurant. Service was o.k. Ambience, there was none. Perhaps it was just a bad day for them. I will try them again another time and see if there is an improvement.
