Bakery, deli, coffee, cheeses, treats... what more could you want?

The breads, the cheeses, the treats - they're all overwhelming. I end up buying too much stuff (but I don't regret any of it!). =) The granary loaf makes my day, as does the bacio. Such tasty cheesecake! And the staff are completely nice - very knowledgeable. I hadn't been there for a couple years awhile back and they still remembered what kind of cheese I like. Some things can be pretty expensive - for example, Illy coffee for 25 dollars a can is quite high, so I end up buying it online instead. Every visit I try some new thing, and I really enjoy the variety of things they have. My palate improves every time we go. =)

Health hazard.

I've rarely been in a restaurant that was so openly dingy, bordering on dirty. The water tasted odd, the soup bowls weren't cleaned up from the last use - the floors were sticky. I'm not sure why it's such a mess, because it could be a really great place with some good cleaning up. I found that the broth smelled sort of funny, like the water, and I couldn't really enjoy my meal. The broth wasn't very rich, and I call the food value poor because I didn't end up eating even half my soup because of the weird smell and the dirty bowls. I might like it better if I weren't afraid of catching something nasty.

Not my first choice.

The pho here is good, but nothing to wrie home about. The broth is not particularly rich, and I often find that they don't have enough noodles. This location is far better than the West 10th location, which I think should be declared a health hazard. Their cold drinks here are great, and there's nothing like an orange shake to perk you up on a hot day.
