I'm a pretty busy guy, so I don't normally take time out to post reviews or blog, but I had to comment on an exceptional night hosted by Jay and his staff at the St. Street Grill in Port Moody.

We have frequented this fine restaurant on a number of occasions in the past and have always enjoyed a great meal in a wonderful, relaxed environment. Last night we held a retirement party/roast for a long time friend and colleague at the St. Street Grill. Hosting over 50 people, (many being important clients, and old friends), this was a very important night for us and we really wanted everything to be perfect, and had quite high expectations. We were certainly not disappointed.

Jay had met with us a couple of times in advance to the party to discuss our specific needs for the party. You could really tell that this was his forte. His organizational skills, flexibility and experience in hosting an affair like this are of the highest caliber. Right down to the smallest detail, Jay ensured that come time for the big event, everything was in place, and everything went even better than was anticipated.

From personally greeting our guests as they entered, to making sure everyone was attended to, the pre-dinner mingling put everyone in a relaxed, comfortable mood to set the stage for a wonderful evening. What impressed me the most about Jay, was how he was able to manage the flow of the evening. Everything was about us and what worked best for us at any particular moment throughout the night.

The service was amazing....completely non-intrusive, yet entirely attentive. As professional and gracious as one could hope for.

The meal itself was incredible. (I strongly urge you to try the Seafood Chowder to start, unbelievably delicious). The grilled rib-eye was a beautiful piece of meat that was cooked to perfection, and brought piping hot to my table. Even the vegetables, (which I am normally not a big fan of), were seasoned and cooked to just the right consistency and texture. I've never enjoyed broccoli and asparagus so much.

To wrap up, the atmosphere and ambiance were wonderful. Spaced just enough so it allowed for an intimate environment that allowed everyone to feel involved in the evening, yet not crowded at all.

We wanted a perfect evening for this most important occasion, and all expectations were met or exceeded. My heartfelt thanks to jay and his wonderful staff for a very memorable evening!
