Good quality Chinese restaurant
Submitted Tuesday, November 23, 2010 - 10:51pm [Dine in]

This is our favorite high-class Chinese restaurant, we must have been here a couple of dozen times. Good quality dishes, very tasty and fresh. They have lots of interesting dishes you don't normally get in a standard fare Chinese restaurant. Our favorite dishes here are pepper beef & fish, stir fried prawns with eggplant, and lobster/crab in a bed of noodles. My parents love going there, they find it such a treat. Prices are higher than standard Chinese restaurants, but you pay for quality tasty food, clean and usually good service (though at times tardy when they are busy). The only complain I have is that they don't give complimentary desserts, even though you pay 2 to 3 times higher cost than standard Chinese restaurants.

Wimaan Thai Restaurant1063 W. Broadway, Vancouver
Best kept Thai secret in Vancouver!

We have been regulars of Wimaan Thai for many years. Anytime we crave for thai food, this is our go-to place. Before Sam opened the restaurant, we would go to Salathai and we used to hate the lineups there at Salathai. We never have to wait at Wimaan (especially since we have 2 little ones, and my patience is as bad as the kids'), there is always room, service is prompt, location and parking is convenient, and the food is better than Salathai. It is definitely authentic thai food, and I used to go there with my friend from Thailand. Our favorite dishes here are Tom Yum Goong soup, Moo Prig King (spicy green beens with pork), calamari with chili paste, and Padd See Iew noodles. Their other dishes are very good too, we have never had a bad dish here. And you can request for how spicy you want the dishes to be. Prices are very reasonable. Atmosphere can be better, however, since we always go with our kids, it is actually good that this place is family friendly, and we're not worried about them being noisy or messy. I hope there will be more regulars like us, then they can afford to spend some money on upgrading their decor. At the meantime, we enjoy this place for their fantastic thai feast.
