My wife ordered a salad and it was unbalanced – too many greens and not enough extras (i.e. cheese and pomegranate). I ordered two appetizers – hot wings and pork sliders. The wings were small and a bit bland – really in need of the dipping sauce. The pork sliders were also not that tasty – again salvaged by the provided dipping sauce.
The décor of the place is excellent -- funky, retro, and chic. Board games are stacked in one corner of the restaurant begging to be played. A tabletop videogame console greets customers in the waiting area. (Galaga, anyone?). The server was friendly and the food came in a reasonable amount of time. I heard the menu was recently expanded to include more share plates and the prices were lowered. Unfortunately, the food we tried was just mediocre.
I would not recommend this restaurant. It has was cold and has no atmosphere. There is better décor in a hospital cafeteria. I ate here with my jacket on.
The server berated me for ordering a burrito without specifying what kind. He gave me a long stare and then snapped “What kind of burrito?”. When I ordered a coke, he stated that it is self-serve and pointed to the fridge along the wall.
There was eight of us, but our order took a very long time. I had ordered a beef burrito, but got chicken instead. The burrito itself was nothing special. The side of beans tasted bland and side of rice was over-cooked. My co-worker ordered a quesadilla. It looked like two pieces of tortilla sandwiching some chicken and sprinkled with some cheese. He barely touched it.
I will not be going back here. Save your money for Taco Del Mar instead.
