After complaining about the last horrible delivery services we asked them if they would care to have us as a customer or not, and if yes they would have to show us some gesture. So the gentleman on the phone said he would give us one free entree and all desserts (for as many people as we would be for the desserts) for free. We gladly accepted. I used to be a manager at a restaurant and in the food and hospitality industry for over 10 years and our policy was always you do ANYTHING to keep your customers happy, we comped anything that was not done to satisfaction. We have been going to Urban Thai for the past 4 years or even more and some times twice a week. All our family and friends from out of town go there due to our recommendation. But after tonight we will NEVER go back there again. I made a reservation telling them it was us, that we were coming in giving them a second chance, they acknowledged me and it was 3 of us. After a very rushed and rude service and absolutely over salted and soggy food (like NEVER before) we got the bill and it was all full price. We asked the "manager" to please come talk to us. He told me he knew nothing. I told him, he was the one who told me he knew me, after all the talk he said he did not know me, I asked him to go check his records for a note in his system. He came back and said he will comp us the desserts 10 dollars on a 80 dollar bill??? He told us to pay and than come back to complain to someone else. I told him this was unacceptable and that we will never come back, and he didn't seem to care.
Worst service I have experienced in a very long time in Yaletown, food quality has extremely gone down at Urban Thai and the customer service and complaint handling is horrible.
We do have expectations in restaurants and are not people to really ever complain, but this has gone too far. 3 strikes, you are OUT!! There is enough competition in Vancouver, we will not except this rudeness!
