Great lunch menu.

Very decent food, you wont walk away hungry from any of the lunch specials, the rolls are big, sometimes they put too much mayo in them. The patio is very nice to sit on in summer. Too bad liquor laws don't allow you to enjoy a nice cold beer with your sushi outside.
The chef is creative and makes some very nice looking stuff!
I can't speak for the regular menu however.
I do recommend it for lunch!

I really wanted this place to be awesome after the big reno that kept it closed forever.
First I will give you the positives.

Good views to screens
Nice beer selection
110% cleaner than the old Jacks
Decent service

Now the bad.
The food, hasn't improved. It may actually have actually taken a slide.
The prices have gone WAY up to pay for the new room.
The drinks are WAY overpriced.
They have alienated their regulars, perhaps they didn't want their business anymore. I'm not one, but I noticed.

It seems like Jacks is trying, but hasn't got the formula right. Basically my opinion is "lipstick on a goat" it looks "better" but until the food is fixed they're just overpriced and pretentious.

The drink prices may be high simply because they can be, this is the only place in central Lonsdale to go for a drink, it isn't hard to go anywhere else. I think that the people that are willing to pay the premium will just go downtown anyway.

I really wanted to like the change. I hope they fix it!

Pho Saigon128 East 14th Street, North Vancouver
Favorite place for Pho, and lunch on the north shore.

I frequent this place between one and three times a week with a friend or two of mine, and have been for the last 18 months or so, 90% of the time I have no gripes with anything, this is an honest family owned restaurant, good friendly people and good eats. I recommend their subs for value tastiness my favorites are the pork brochette and chicken(which is lemon grass chicken) I also enjoy their spring rolls, salad rolls, pho, and vermicelli bowls and I've been to them all more than once.

My friend loves the curry, and he dips his sub in it.

I will be frank and say this won't be the best pho place you will ever go to, but it is probably the best on the north shore, and the service here is almost always fantastic (but it depends which server is working) and the food is almost always satisfying. You won't be happy if you are a pho snob, but then again you probably never are. ;)

My only real complaint is that the music could contain more variety.
