I decided to go there for breakfast.I ordered the half bennie with mushrooms.I asked for the egg to be medium poached.I also asked for a glass of water. The egg came almost raw. There was a small side of fried potatoes which were burned and were garnished with a few green onions.A dried up piece of orange was at the side of the plate. The water had a metallic taste. The waitress never came around to ask me how the food was but was at the back having a loud conversation with the cook. The restaurant is very non descript.I would not recommend this place for a meal...quite disappointing.
I go to the pub at least once a week,The servers are very pleasant and helpful.the one food item that is very good is their pizza. The Greek salad is mediocre and has a very salty dressing splashed over everything. The feta is also quite salty.Too many cucumbers and not enough red onion or tasty tomatoes. The dressing should be replaced with a good grade olive oil.The quesadillas are bland and not very exciting with the burgers falling in the same category. For over $7 you get a very small spanikopita..very disappointing. The food is a tad expensive for the quality you receive. They should send the cooks to River's Reach in New West to see how to prepare excellent pub fare. The ambience is excellent and there is a good clientle..a great place for a drink..and a bite to eat is average.they could bump the food up a few notches and this would be a super place to hang out for eats.
I went to Beecher Street Cafe around 2:30 pm on Dec.19th for brunch.First off,the cafe was cold,so I was uncomfortable.I ordered a regular eggs benedict. The fruit salad was unpalatable.Honey dew melon was included which was hard and unchewable and the portion was miniscule. The eggs were a bit under cooked as I had asked for medium poached and there as hardly any hollandaise sauce on the eggs. The sauce was bland and tasteless. The English muffin was tough. There was a wee piece of ham included which had a tough rind. This cost $12.99.The waiter was good and so was the pint of Russell lager I ordered.I don't know who the chef was(and I use that term lightly)but there was no effort put into the cooking of the food or the presentation.Oh,there was a very small portion of potato which was blackened.I should have sent the order back and left, but was hungry so I ate the eggs. This surely was a very, very poor experience.Stay away from this establishment if you are looking for a good meal. How disappointing! Also far too expensive for what you get.
