Reef, The4172 Main Street, Vancouver
Amazing Food & Friendly Staff
Submitted Monday, May 5, 2008 - 2:34am [Dine in]

I love coming to the Reef!! The quality of food and service is always consistent and I have brought many out-of-towners and friends to this place for the very same reason. The ambiance is better, in my opinion, for lunch, because it tends to be quieter and brighter (at dinner, the lights seem too dim, and tend to be noisy mostly because of the restaurant being packed). I like to switch it up between the jerk chicken or the west indian curry, which are fantastic dishes, and I love the bun they give you during dinner! Portions are perfect.
Downside: finding parking is a nightmare!! Main street terrible to park, and the available spaces on 26th is all for residential parking only. This is actually worse for dinner; I think we've spent about 20~30 minutes trying to find parking once.

Excellent service!!

I happened to be in Langley one day and decided to have dinner here since I heard good things about this place. I was with my family and my mom particularly liked her sashimi rice w/ vegetables and spicy sauce (forgot the name of the dish), which looked really good. I liked my bento box, it was very well presented with a lot of variety! The california rolls included in the bento box were good, but not great, though. Service was top-notch, with all the waitresses being really friendly and courteous. Ambiance is so-so, but really, the food and service and price pretty much outweighs it by far. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking to eat in Langley (but not sure if I'd like to drive out just for the food).

My Greek Taverna946 Brunette Avenue, Coquitlam
Great food, but getting careless

This was my second visit to My Greek Taverna. The first visit was pretty much similar so I figured this warrants a review. First off, their food is really good - I like the generous portion, the rice, potato, greek salad, etc that comes with the entree dishes. I personally like lamb so I ordered roast lamb on both occasions - delicious! However, the service was slow on both occasions - the food comes out pretty fast but when you need your drinks refilled, it would take forever. During my most recent visit, I had to ask three times to two different waitresses for water and even then, it was forgotten. We waited for our bill to arrive, but decided we'd like to head out so we came to the front to pay... and the waitress called out a seemingly random number off the top of her head and punched it into the credit card machine. Very odd. Later we realized we overpaid by 20 cents or so, so it wasn't a big deal, but it just came off really unprofessional. The ambiance I think is pretty solid - seems like some reviews complain about it but it is better than that crammed Stepho's on Davie for sure.

Yummy food, excellent value for money

I came by here to eat with a friend on a weekday, expecting a decent meal. I was really impressed by their delicious food!! The california rolls were especially good - I've been noticing a lot of sushi restaurants "cheapening" on the crab/avocado/fillings? by adding too much rice, but Yakko's california rolls were solid - made just right (I noticed someone else mentioned this about Yakko Express... have not been to the other location but I'm guessing this is done similarly). Their sashimi was really fresh and was served in big portions; all in all, I was full for around $10. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
