I have been quite generous with my review for one simple reason: consistancy. I have eaten at this milestones many, many times over the years and in my mind it is one of my favourite restuarants. In general I will go to great lengths to avoid eating at franchises like Earls, Cactus Club, and Steamworks (terrible). Even other Milestone locations, I've been disappointed by one thing or another. As with most Milestones, the ambiance is usually a little better than average. Nothing amazing, but always pleasant. The food is good, and the pricing is reasonable. Personally, I really like trying the specials because they normally suit the season well but you can always count on the classics on the menu. Again, nothing absolutely amazing.
However, this particular location I hold in especially high regard because I have never had anything less than a great dining experience here. My family absolutely loves the service. Everything arrives in a timely fashion, and you never find yourself being rushed to the next course. Any special requests or things we didn't like about the food has been corrected quickly by smiling staff. We've been personally approached by a manager (on several occasions!) after we complimented staff on the great food and service and were invited for free appetizers the next time we came.
So the next time you are at Park Royal thinking of eating at Cactus Club, go get a table at Milestones instead.
