My husband and I moved to Port Moody from Vancouver a year ago and had been quite disappointed by the food offerings in the area. We had heard about Heritage House from some of our friends and decided to try it out last Friday. After being greeted by the maitre'd (who bore a strong resemblance to David Suzuki), we were told the wait was going to be about an hour. We were surprised and grateful when he asked if we lived close by and offered to call us when our table was ready. A quick 45 min later (and a glass of wine on our couch) and we were off to enjoy one of our best evenings out!
Our server was friendly and attentive (and recommended an excellent Zinfandel to compliment our meal) and the decor was funky and rustic (very cool Reno’s). We shared the antipasto platter and prawns to start (both excellent) and decided on the, Boeuf En Daube and Grilled Chicken Breast for our mains. We were blown away by the food quality, and the flavours were reminiscent of more expensive Vancouver restaurants. Our only regret is that we didn't try the Pizza! We recently told some of our Vancouver friends that they have to try this hidden gem, it's worth the drive!
