George's Pizza6109 West Boulevard, Vancouver
Best pizza in town
Submitted Wednesday, April 23, 2014 - 3:37pm [Dine in]

I previously submitted a review for this restaurant four years ago. Since this time, George's has gone through a few different owners, and I felt obliged to comment that this latest owner has done wonders to this already wonderful neighbourhood restaurant.

I've been going here since the 70s. There have definitely been some lean years where I boycotted the place altogether because whoever was running the business obviously wasn't too concerned with the quality of their product. Thankfully, this is a thing of the past. I speak with authority when I say that the food is as good now as it was under its original owners.

If you like your pizzas super thin with a smattering of toppings, then you're better off somewhere else. However, if you like great-tasting dough, tangy sauce, and generous amounts of cheese and whatever else you want on your pizza, then this is the place for you. Simply put, George's makes the best pizza in town.

Best naan ever!
Submitted Tuesday, August 31, 2010 - 7:30pm [Dine in]

In a city filled with great Indian cuisine, Jolly’s is my new favourite. I usually order vegetarian dishes when I’m there, and the food is always super fresh and extremely tasty. I love the eggplant, with its savoury tomato gravy, the aloo ki tikki appetizer, the saag, and whatever other wonderful vegetable dish Jolly whips up. And the fluffy naan bread is easily the best that I’ve ever had. With reasonable prices and decent portions, Jolly’s has become my go-to restaurant whenever I’m hit with a craving for good Indian food.

Incredible Indian food
Submitted Monday, August 7, 2006 - 6:47pm [Dine in]

Ashiana is, hands down, the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. The service is quite laid back and the décor has some nice touches, but what stands out is the food – oh, the food: The butter chicken is wonderful, the chicken tikka is a sizzling tangy delight, while the eggplant and bhindi (okra) dishes, both of which I always order, are culinary masterworks. I eat here quite regularly, dining in and taking out, and I’ve yet to have anything but stellar food.
