We went there for a sit down dinner as I had the takeout two days earlier. The takeout was the spicy prawns with a side of pepper sauce to get it hot. For the price , taste, and heat, it was great. Two days later the wife and I went to the restaurant for dinner. I ordered the ginger beef and she ordered the sweet and sour chicken(not excatly szechuan). When I order the beef again I'll order the four chile heat as three was not hot enough for me(personal taste). The food came fast and was piping hot. I'm not a late eater(I arrived at 5PM)so I can't report on later evening service. Since I had szechuan cuisine in Shanghi and Beijing I can attest to the authenticity of the food. I'm looking forward to my next time there.

We just had our annual Christmas eve dinner and wondered if we could find another restuarant like the William Tell. We have eaten there for 35 years and when it closed last new years eve we went into a little shock. The value, ambiance and sevice were second to none in Vancouver. When a friend told us of Bacchus we went hoping this was the one. The restuarant reminds me so much of the better restuarants of Europe and Asia. We had the scallops, and reindeer(after all it is Christmas). Both were done to maximize the texture and taste. The waiters were trained to please and had great personalities to boot. The value for the food was at least three times cheaper for the same value if you were in Europe at a comparable eatery. I reccomend eating early as it can get busy by 6PM. It didn't surprise me though considering the all over quality for everything. This place is the perfect replacement for the William Tell!!!!

My wife and I went to the brunch and were blown away with the selection of food. The smoked mackerel was heavenly. My wife requested a seperate menu as she is not a big eater and was offered the childs portion of the menu as it was only a buffet that day. I thought to myself "what a nice gesture". The buffet came with a bottomless glass of champange and orange juice. I have travelled quite a bit since I'm a retired airline employee and I can tell you that the quality of the Crystal Grille is world class. This was not my first time as I thought I should go at different times for a honest review. The steaks are extremely fine without the high priced steak house prices. The staff are very friendly, honest and helpful when asked about the different dishes available. For the lamb lovers out there, you must visit. I will return when I get back to the coast whenever I want a good quality meal for a decent price.
