Pie By Night Pizzeria1147 Granville Street, Vancouver
Submitted Saturday, October 6, 2007 - 9:23pm [Dine in]

Pie By Night is the single greatest slice of pizza in Vancouver. Not only does it actually make you feel GOOD to eat, it's cheap and delicious. The genius behind the pies, Oguz- is one of the most supreme people I have ever spoken to and his musical knowledge is unsurpassed. Any pizza place that plays the smiths and joy division alongside elvis costello and tom waits is great in my book. I refuse to eat pizza anywhere else (fatih's only if I'm desperate). Plus they're open until 4AM!

Bon's is the most fun you can have without taking your pants off, and I'm not sure if you can combine those two. The staff is amazing, absolutely the nicest bunch of people despite the giant rush they are always in from opening til close. Bon is a god-like figure himself, smiling and laughing like buddah while delivering coffee and taking orders like a champ. The locals will tell you, there is nowhere better to drop five bucks and get a full meal including coffee and tip! I eat at bon's probably five times a week. Anyone that gets it, gets it. We know all the employees by their costumes, tattoos or demeanour, if not by name. The grouchiness of the little old lady adds to the appeal, as does the mustard-coloured walls, the coffee cowboy, the giant chunks of near-raw potato, and never having the right condiments at your table (one day it's ketchup and HP and the next it's honey-mustard and soy sauce) these things make Bon's a piece of the history of every East Vancouver rock band, scenester, punk, jock, hippy, friday night drunk and saturday morning hangover. We get it. Bon's is for lovers.

This place is great. Pitchers of Granville Island are ten bucks, cheapest in the city to my knowledge for a non-special. The food is great, I usually get a swiss cheese and egg crepe with mushrooms. The coffee is suprisingly good as well. The staff are for the most part awesome. I have never had a bad experience eating here and the location is very convenient.
