Great food, long waits...
Submitted Friday, September 27, 2013 - 6:58pm [Take-out]

The pizzas are fantastic except they operate like a doctors office. They give you an appointment time for pick up but expect to wait before you can see your food, so if they say 45 expect a 20-30 minute wait on top of that. The last time I was there, they over charged me but luckily during my "wait" I was able to verify the amount and get it corrected. If it was in and out, I would have overpaid. Great pizzas though, just make sure you give yourself enough time.

Not what I expected...it was way better!

There is a bit of a disconnect at the restaurant in terms of it being white table clothed but yet the staff there are dressed in their casual finest of jeans and a short sleeve shirt. I guess it just added to the eclecticness of the area since it was Gastown. The food however was impressive and the value of the prix fixe cannot be beat. The dishes were small but the ingredients were fresh. The service was friendly, a bit choppy but friendly.

I thought it was a great place and it definitely had charm. I look forward to going back.

New management
Presto Cucina2655 King George Hwy, White Rock
Its Over.
Submitted Monday, February 1, 2010 - 12:55pm [Dine in]

I really liked Presto Cucina, sure they had some hiccups but their food was good. Even though their service was slow and challenging at times, I loved their chicken pesto penne so much it made up for it. Unfortunately the most recent incident had me shaking my head and made the ultimate decision to end this dining relationship.

As usual I order the Chicken Pesto Penne for carry out along with a soda as my beverage. I waited for the order and when it was ready the cashier confirmed my beverage choice and packed my bag. I got to the car and there was no beverage even though we had just confirmed it a minute earlier. Ran back into the store, no problem got my drink.

When I got home to enjoy my favourite dish I was sorely disappointed as they didn't add the pesto. The sauce is an alfredo sauce mixed with pesto, without the pesto all I got was bland penne. I quickly called the manager to inform them of the faux pas. The manager went on about portion control and how they have implemented quality control measures. She asked if I had even had that dish before and thats how they make it. I advised her yes I am well aware how the dish is made and advised her that there was no pesto. She went on about portion control and at this point I realized she didn't know what pesto was. I advised her it is a green sauce and I can assure her there was nothing green on the dish. She then advised me the general manager was back on Monday and she will call me. The general manager did call me an offered me a $10.00 certificate but not once apologized for the inconvenience. She also said that there was pesto in the dish, she confirmed it with the chef and that I just didn't notice it. They also have strict quality control. I realized then there was no reason to go back. They didn't care.

Great Cupcakes and sandwiches
Submitted Sunday, August 30, 2009 - 6:52pm [Dine in]

This is a great place to sit on the patio and enjoy one of their tasty sandwiches. A cupcake for dessert is a must also, they were deeeelish! My friends and I often pick up the mini ones and head to the beach, its nice that you can sample a whole bunch. This is definitely a great addition to the beach. I am looking forward to trying their high tea.

Fabulous Food
Submitted Wednesday, October 22, 2008 - 5:34pm [Dine in]

This is one of my favourite places, I regularly get take out as the dining room is usually full. The food is fantastic and the quality is excellent. The people there are also very friendly and its nice to be greated warmly even when you are picking up take out. In the summer parking is a bit difficult which is also why I usually do take out but its definitely worth sitting down and having dinner there. They also have a very nice ocean view.

It was OK
Submitted Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - 1:04pm [Dine in]

I was quite excited to see a new restaurant open up especially mexican / tex mex seeing as that is lacking in White Rock. I had ordered the steak fajitas and I think the most disappointing part of it was that none of it was fresh or homemade. It was jarred salsa and not even freshly grated cheese, just what you buy at the super market. I go out for dinner looking for an experience not one that I can create at home so unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. The service was good and the people were friendly but I don't think I would go back.

It started off with a bang and ended in a fizzle....

The food was good and the service was great to start off with. Then it just died. We had the set menu and the first two dishes came out well timed and then it got slower and slower and slower to the point where you felt like you were watching paint dry. So sad. We watched the table next to us get their food a lot quicker, they had the set menu too but the other options..we had menu envy. Otherwise food is good, just don't go when you are in a hurry.

They weren't kidding when they said SCALLOP
Submitted Tuesday, October 17, 2006 - 4:12pm [Dine in]

A group of us went there for dinner and the service was fantastic, the waiter made our evening. I ordered SCALLOP & BACON for an appetizer and they weren't kidding when they meant singular. It wasn't even a large scallop just a regular one you see in the grocery store the size of a loonie with 1/3rd of a piece of baccon stabbed through it for $13.00 . Eveything else was good though, especially the venison & tenderloin! Be forewarned, look for plurals...

This restaurant has been around for ages and I have heard a tonne of good reviews so one night a group of friends and I decided to try it. The food was good and the portions were filling but the service left a bad taste. First my knife was dirty...as in used...so I put it aside and waited for the waitress to come by...and waited and waited. Finally I gave up and ended up having to saw my meat with the side of my fork. The novelty soon wore off and I had to alternate with my friends for the use of their knife...by the way I am still waiting for the waitress to come by. The meal is over and she came by. We ordered dessert and coffees. This is the great part...true measure of class...the waitress came in with a pot of coffee and refilled the cup of a customer on the other side of the room, she came to me and offered a refill and I declined, in one fell swoop she grabbed a creamer off my plate, hoping i didnt notice and walked out of the room to turn around, come back in and offer it to the gentleman sitting at the other end of the dining room. I have to admit she was quick and I had to ask my friends for confirmation that yes indeed she did take a creamer off my plate and offer it to someone else as if it was new. Impressive.

I love this place!
Submitted Thursday, July 20, 2006 - 5:45pm [Dine in]

This is one of my favourite restaurants! The service is always great and the food is delicious. I try to go as often as I can, though it can be expensive it is worth it. The food is great and its the only place in White Rock that I know that serves VOSS.
