Fantastic Waffles and the services makes the experience BETTER!
Submitted Sunday, November 10, 2013 - 10:44am [Dine in]

MMM!
Both sweet and savoury choices and all excellent!
I am a vegetarian so I have not tried any of the meat options but friends love the egg and the ham and cheese options.

I recommend the apple and cheddar if you are in the mood for something both sweet and savoury - it's more of a meal.
If you want a snack I would recommend one of the pie-inspired. And talk about service! I asked if I could try a pie inspired with orange and chocolate and they made it! Orange with orange rind and chocolate chips inside a crispy, liege waffle - very tasty!

What is with the opening hours??!
Submitted Thursday, May 31, 2012 - 7:49pm [Dine in]

I like a crepe for breakfast - but this place doesn't offer them.
Their opening hours are 11-7 or whenever we feel like it. This turns out to mean, they don't open on sunny days, almost never on a Saturday and they are not open at 8 or at a decent breakfast time.
The service is OK, but not consistent - some servers are better than others.
It is the perfect location for a breakfast bar, crepes are a breakfast food...how the owners arrived at those opening hours is beyond me.

Finally Vegetarian Fast Food!
Submitted Thursday, May 31, 2012 - 7:44pm [Take-out]

Excellent food at a healthy price!
Vegetarian or vegan fast food - quality ingredients at a fair price.
Dine-in or take-out service available and both options are good. In the first week this place was open we went there 4 times!
The packaging is all biodegradable and the restaurant ethos is environmental and health first. A fast food restaurant you could live off of!
I only hope that one day this will become a chain and be available all over the city and then province...

Vegetarians ane meat eaters alike love this place.

Revamped as a Sushi Restaurant
Submitted Thursday, January 5, 2012 - 7:35pm [Dine in]

My Local Cafe was a small and typical cafe. However it closed down and has now re-opened as My Local Sushi Cafe. The food is excellent and a fantastic value! The area was in need of a good Japanese restaurant, and this is a great one!
It has a typical Japanese menu and the prices are what you would expect to pay, but the portions are bigger than you'd expect. Tea and Miso soup is complementary for everyone - so if you are just looking for a quick snack, have some Miso and tempura - all other portions are meal sized not snack sized.

Fantastic! Exceeded expectations

Looking for an all day breakfast place in Kits that is not as pretentious and over-rated as Sophie's was hard. After trying the food here, we have been back ever week for months now! The portions are excellent sizes and the price for the amount of food you get is outstanding! Service is exquisite it is unusually to see servers that nice in Vancouver, especially Kits.
Many people have posted that having to buy hash browns (home fries) separately is annoying, but we have always found one side between us is more than enough after the giant portions of eggs or waffles.
Excellent milkshakes-one milkshake to two people is more than enough! For small children, be warned they will not come close to finishing a burger and shake themselves.
