A place my family visits regularly - for the Xiao Long Bao!
Submitted Sunday, March 20, 2011 - 11:44pm [Dine in]

Our whole family loves Xiao Long Bao so we come to this place about once every 1~2 months since years ago. We have been coming to this place regularly even when it was still a tiny store across from Richmond Center. The food still tastes as good now, and we love coming here for lunch.

In terms of food & value: They increased the price of the food by a little over the year but it's understandable. For the food without price increase, they shrank the size a little instead... well, still good enough for us though since the taste is still excellent. It's not like we'd order more with smaller portions anyway. It's good when we don't have to take leftovers home =) Xiao Long Bao is a must-order every time we come here. Love the juice inside the Xiao Long Bao and the skin rarely rips! We also love the fried pork with nian gao, especially the sauce! (This dish is only available during lunch time, so that's why we only come at lunch).

As for service: Definitely improved over the years. Everyone who works there always have an attitude or something back then, but over the years their overall service improved. Definitely a good news to me XD Now they greet you with a smile and they promptly take away dishes and refill hot tea. The service now makes me happy to return now and then.

Ambiance: Good in general. Toilet is kept clean. Tables are all promptly cleared as soon as the customers leave. The best part is you get to watch the chefs make Xiao Long Bao. I'm always amazed by their speed and the Xiao Long Bao's skin doesn't rip apart when you pick it up! (Out of the numerous times I ate there, I think there were only 3 times that the Xiao Long Bao skin ripped)

Man, writing this review makes me crave for their Xiao Long Baos again!

The usual Dim-Sum place for my family ^_^
Submitted Sunday, March 20, 2011 - 10:48pm [Dine in]

My family has been going to this place regularly - about once every 1~2 months - since years ago. We like this place for 1. relatively easy parking 2. cheap dim sum + food w/ very generous portion 3. wide variety of food. Another thing that this Dim Sum place has that no other local Dim Sum place has, is trolley ladies pushing the food out from the kitchen! This reminds me of the traditional Dim Sum places in Hong Kong and I love it! If a trolley lady happens to be around you, you can grab food the second you are seated! This is especially helpful if you are introducing a Caucasian friend to Dim Sum, so that you can show them exactly how the food looks like and you can tell them what's in there! You can't really do this with the tick sheets.

In terms of taste, the food is okay and acceptable. It's not particularly outstanding, but for the price, it's definitely worth it. The portion, especially the rice/noodles dishes, is very generous for the cheap price! We always have to take leftovers home with us. One thing that has been disappointing me since months ago was they no longer make the dessert that I really like. =( It's too bad. Also, the place can be pretty noisy when it's busy, but it's to be expected. Over all, it's a nice restaurant and my family will keep returning there once in a while. =D

Went there for lunch with a few friends. Sushi is fresh and fried food does not taste too oily or greasy. It's definitely better than expected. The value is reasonable too. The combos have meso soup, salad, few pieces of sushi, a bowl of rice + whatever you ordered (we had tonkatsu and chicken karaage). Portions were quite generous, except that the sushi were kind of small. We were all full and it cost us less than AYCE! But then none of us girls eat a lot of begin with so yeah. The servers were quick and attentive in general. Would definitely go back again =D

I think the new name of this place is called "Enjoy Cafe" now and my experience was definitely not enjoyable. The pricing is okay but service they provide is horrible. The food took forever to arrive. I went there with a few friends and my fried rice arrived first. I waited 10 minutes until I start eating my rice (as it was getting cold) because I didn't want to be the only one eating, and by the time I was almost done with my rice, my friends' food finally arrived. They kept on bringing us food other people ordered instead of what WE ordered. The place wasn't even half full so I have no idea how they messed up orders. As for drinks, we had to keep reminding them to bring us our drinks. I thought drinks are supposed to arrive before food as it's simple to make (seriously, how long does it take to stick some lemon slices into a cup of hot tea?), but no, the drinks didn't get here until we were eating. One of our friend ordered a coke, and it took them 3 reminders to bring him his coke and a straw. Yes, they didn't even bother giving him a glass or ice. It took them over 10 minutes to bring us the bill despite the cafe isn't full, and they didn't even ask us if we want our change back.I am never ever going back to this place.

tl;dr - The food took forever. The drinks took forever. Service was below standard. Even the bill took forever. They didn't return the change and just assumed we are overtipping them. What the heck?
