Had breaky here with my partner. Even though it IS a bit overpriced across the board, it's a very neat Coffee / Self Self breakfast-lunch restaurant hybrid.

Had an omelette with spinach & cheese and it was splendid. Also had freshly squeezed OJ. AWESOME.

It was really busy when we were there and they don't have much competition around the area for what they cater to,

I'd come back.

Awesome decor, good food, something different

Very Yaletownish decor, was pretty impressed with what the overall had to offer. Was with a party of 4 celebrating a birthday and we had a really good time.

Food was above average but isn't 5 star like some of the high end players downtown but this isn't fine dining as there's a sports lounge and a casual yet upscale feel. Like a mini Joey's with a water view (and I'm a big fan of Joey's)

I had a burger while my other 3 guests had steaks. Steaks looked GREAT but I didn't have a chance to taste. My burger was awesome.

Definitely the place in Steveston to go to when in Steveston.

Upon many many visits over the years, we've always been happy and more than satisfied with this restaurant. Great service, a phenomenal ambiance and a great menu. There's a reason why this place is always busy even on weekdays.

Had fresh s sushi made from the sushi bar and my date and I spent our evening with a couple of nice bottles of wine.

My number one spot in Yaletown.

Not bad, great burger
Submitted Tuesday, July 28, 2009 - 12:16pm [Dine in]

Burger was awesome. Seems fresh and the flavours were there. Great dessert and service was good. Massive restaurant that looked empty , then again we ate around 1:30 on a Tuesday.

Aside from a weird location (off the highway) the look didn't quite fit the location but it was a nice establishment.

I'll be back but it's a bit out of the way for me

Good mom'n pop kinda place
Submitted Tuesday, June 9, 2009 - 2:11am [Dine in]

this is just traditional and laid back italian food in a casual setting on the beach strip. We've been back a couple of times here because the portions are good and the service is good. Honestly we come back because there rest of the strip isn't that great and they don't have much competition IMO.

They always have specials and I particularly like there lasgna and it's HUGE.

GOOD VALUE, good service, AWESOME view (although the patio is cramped) and overall perfect if you don't want to spend lots and get full on casual italian.

Family run I believe so there's a sense of genuine passion for being in the restaurant business.

Cute, modern but there lunch didn't deliver
Submitted Tuesday, June 9, 2009 - 2:08am [Dine in]

Had a schnitzel sandwich which wasn't really packed with flavor. I'm guessing they focus more of the dinner side than the lunch to try to attract business people.

Soup wasn't too bad but I wonder what the thing is with having a small crouton of burnt toast.

Overall my experience was average for this kind of restaurant. I would give it another chance for sure but I won't be running back. I although I love there open kitchen concept the dining area felt a bit cold. Still nice and modern though.

Needs an update?
Submitted Tuesday, June 9, 2009 - 2:02am [Dine in]

Was here on a very quiet Tuesday night and what gave me the impression of an upscale restaurant from the outside ended up being an ok dining experience.

I'm an all round dining experience kind of person. I need to have a standard of ambiance, service and food quality in order for me to return. The food was good enough.. nothing to complain but the decore of the establishment was completely dated. It must of done really well in the 80's but this isn't at all inviting. The restaurant is upstairs and the whole time I just couldn't get that "hey this is a nice place" feel in me.

They did have a table of regulars and they seem to love it.. but they were easily in their 60's so I'm guessing this isn't our kind of scene.

Won't be back because nothing was particularly great and the ambiance lacked for me.

I agree.. hidden gem
Submitted Sunday, June 7, 2009 - 4:17am [Dine in]

always fresh and always busy.

price is always right. Short of going to Tojo's for the real and ultra fresh.. Maguro does a great job of getting all the bases covered. It's not the biggest restaurant so don't be surprised to have to wait on any given evening.

All the rolls are always fresh and put together nicely. Rice is always firm and not over or undercooked. Soups, ramen , combination bowls are all top notch and service is always great.

You can tell how good a place is by the line up and how many "to go" orders they need to deal with on a nightly basis.

Good stuff and when I am in the area to visit family. I love it here

I love the decor and love the feels I get when I walk into this place. A bit of a oddity to dine in the inside of a hotel but they do a good job of creating an open space area with different section so every customer has an option of what kind of experience they like.

great food and fresh. Had some drinks at the bar as the bar was also inviting. You kind of feel like you're in Miami.

had some tuna tataki which was excellent.

Dim Sum heaven
Submitted Sunday, June 7, 2009 - 4:10am [Dine in]

yes.. I come here for the dim sum as many do.. I haven't had dinner here but it's my go to. Massive restaurant so even on busier days you shouldn't have to wait long at all as I did this last Sunday.

More expensive than the richmond ones but the quality is top notch.

Easy to order system and fast service. Been almost a dozen times and this will be my favorite for now.

I visit my parents in Surrey and this is one of their favorites.

I've been here many times over the years and they have always delivered and I see they are catering to a very specifc older generation of diners. Greek / mediterranean based menu had me wanting something a bit more updated.

The restaurant is kept VERY clean and has a nice charm to it.. decorated like a mediterranean courtyard and they've made it look nice considering it's in an industrial park.

Food wise.. again.. tastes good but it's just the same old stuff. they need some updated for me to get excited about coming here.

typical hiring standards but great food!
Submitted Sunday, June 7, 2009 - 4:02am [Dine in]

Portions are usually on the generous side and I sat in the upstairs patio.

Very upscale trendy feel and this is probably my 5th time back since they opened. Service is "as expected" . Servers hired based on looks and mediocre serving standards.. but that's what they do don't they?

Had the viva salad and calamari and both were awesome. I also had a chance to have a bite of my friend's lettuce wrap which was also good.

GREAT SERVICE would be icing on the cake though

One of the nicest patios in lower mainland in my humble opinion. Food is not awesome but good and the variety is just right for an upperscale casual type of restaurant. I love the ambiance and it's worth the drive. My parents live in Surrey and brought me here... this is my first review and I love dining out so I'll be doing more reviews as I dine out!
