as bad as it gets

Went for lunch on Sat and were the first customers there as they had just opened.Waited a while to decide what to have as we had read the previous reviews on the place and wanted to order the recommended dishes. What a disappointment! Had the crispy hainan chicken which was ok.Couldn't get why they gave sweet soy sauce as a condiment for the dish.I've had many a hainan chicken rice before and this was a first for me.I don't see anything authentic about that.We also had the Char Kuay Teow and I requested that I didn't want any pork with it.The plate came and all that was in it was bean sprouts, eggs and rice noodles. All that for $7.50. Give me a break! They could at least thrown in some fish cake or chicken or anything!Anyways to their defence, it wasn't stated on the menu that there were any other ingredients in the dish.Lastly, I had the sambal Chicken and that was absolutely horrid. The coconut rice they served had pieces of dried up rice in it and I had to constantly spit out little pieces of it throughout the meal.Idon't expect them to cook a fresh batch daily but you can't be serving something that's been sitting in the fridge for god knows how long.It had a grand total of 4 little pieces of cut up chicken thigh and a drumstick. And here's the kicker... the freaking drumstick wasn't even thoroughly cooked. You could see that the whole thing was still bloody on the inside. Are u kidding me! Mentioned it to the young server about it and she explained that this thing sometimes happen when they fry it cause it's a fine line so as to not overfry the chicken and therefore sometimes the chicken is undercooked. What are you talking about? Do they even know how dangerous it is to serve raw chicken? She then told me that since this happen that I did not have to pay taxes on the bill.I was just blown away by all this.Bill came to $25 without taxes for 2 very unsatisfactory dishes and 1 uncooked dish The only saving grace for this place is that our server was polite and attentive..I don't know how they had good reviews before or maybe I just got them on a bad day.Whatever it is, It'll be the first and the very last for me.There are many more places to get my Malaysian fix than this joint.Oh and by the way, as soon as I got home I had to run to the washroom as my stomach wouldn't accept what was put in there the previous hour if you know what I mean.Simply horrible!! Not recommended at all.

Been going there fot the past year now and always been satisfied when i leave. Quite an extensive lunch menu for $11.95 and for extra $4 you get all the sashimi you want.Good place to binge on Japanese food.If you're looking for quality, go somewhere else. What you pay is what you get ! Decent ayce restaurant if you're in the neighbourhood.

Decent food for ayce .Our server was very attentive to our needs and made our experience enjoyable. Butter chicken was on the sweet side, lamb curry was tasteless but the beef keema was outstanding. Quite a selection of veg. food and their chai tea was good. Enjoy the view of False Creek and grease up on ayce indian buffet. Can't beat all that for $12 on a beautiful Sunday .Don't forget to wash it all down with a bottle of Tiger Beer or two as it will help with the digestion.Worth a try!

Went there 4 lunch yesterday and was pleasantly surprised with the new decor. They have moved from the old location at the corner of chesterfield to the new digs down the block. Disappointed that they didn't have their weekend lunch buffet anymore but they have a new set brunch menu for $9 which was very good.Ordered chicken satay and beef ribs for the appetizers and stir fry chicken and vegetables for the entrees.Meals also includes a plate of pad thai and some salad. Also ordered a large bowl of tom yum soup which was tasty albeit a tad too small for $13.Nevertheless,very satisfying. Will definitely come back again if in the neighbourhood.

went there for lunch last week as we were in the neighbourhood and boy what a big mistake.First off, took 15 minutes to take order even though the restaurant was empty .Waited another 10mins to get our tea.Ordered 2 orders of house special pho and 2 orders of pho with chicken and 4 orders of the salad rolls.Came back with wrong order for the chicken pho and brought beef instead. After mentioning it to our server she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Prior to that had to walked up to the counter twice to get some more napkins after she said she'll bring some but instead she disappeared to another corner of the restaurant never to be seen again. A man showed up at our table (I presumed he is the owner) and told us he couldn't do anything about it.Came back with 2 new bowls of pho and doggy bag the 2 wrong orders for us to take home. After telling him that we didn't want it he said that we might as well have it as we were being charged for it anyways.I was stunned! They mess the order up and we get it charged to us. And to top it all of,they charged us an extra order of salad roll which the disappearing server had managed to include before vanishing again as I was bringing it up to the owner. All in all , had to pay extra $20 on top of our bill for a miserable lunch.Never again.
