I will not be coming back, very bad service and bland food, they used to be good but now the food quality is going downhill
Submitted Sunday, September 27, 2015 - 2:21pm [Dine in]

So I arrived early to meet a friend who I was waiting for 5pm dinner. The owner just stood there and looked at me. No greeting or welcome or would you like to be seated nothing. So I just sat my self down at a table, all of the tables were empty as I was the only customer. Their house is connected to the building so you can hear people talking while you are eating. The door that connects to the house is always open.

Once my friend arrived we started looking at the menu at was on the table, then the server arrived and asked us if we were ready. I ordered shahi paneer and garlic naans and the shahi paneer did not live up to my expectations in the past when I ordered it here the sauce was thick and the cheese pieces were big, this time the sauce was watery and the paneer pieces were like 1/4 of the size they used to be and they didn't put in much paneer and charged me the same price. I felt ripped off.

my friend had the vegetable biryani that was so hot to eat. He started sweating so much and then had to order raita to even it out, still the sweat was pouring out of him and he looked like he had come out of a shower. I had no idea biryani could be so unbearable.

Also, the server was not very helpful we did not feel very welcome and the food was just bland. We kept running out of napkins as most of them were used to clean off the sweat from his forehead.

No customer service skills, guy ignored me and was too worried about his delivery orders..horrible service
Submitted Sunday, May 24, 2015 - 9:41am [Dine in]

I had to wait 15 minutes before my order was taken, still no smile nor manners. Very cold service, they are only concerned about my money. And my pizza was missing toppings when I went to complain the girl told me sometimes he puts the toppings under the cheese but they weren't there. Save your money and go somewhere you feel valued.

They have messed up my order twice, rude service.
Submitted Sunday, May 24, 2015 - 9:37am [Take-out]

When you call to order take out the phone on the voice is "j's pizza" very quiet and hard to hear. After you have placed your order it takes them 25 minutes to make it the guy is working alone so he takes his precious time putting on each ingredient. When I went in to pick up the pizza he had his kids walking and sitting on the counter so it's not only a pizza place but a daycare. Then I realized he forgot to give me the dips he charged me for and he couldn't even deliver them to me since I live 5 mins away so he was like you can pick them up tomorrow. His wife was rude to me the next day when I went to pick up the dips. The pizza is overrpriced cardboard 2 for 1 deal is a joke hear you are better off getting your pie somewhere else. There is no bang for your buck here.

Great food, Great Staff, Constantly refilling the buffet with hot items!
Submitted Wednesday, July 2, 2014 - 8:50am [Dine in]

So we decided to go to Uncle Willy's on Monday afternoon for the lunch buffet, you pay the hostess, she gives you a slip and then you may enter. What a great experience! So many Vegan/Vegetarian Options. I was impressed by the amount of vegan/vegetarian fare! I immediately loaded my plate with garden salad, cheese n potato perogies with sour cream, macaroni n cheese, vegetarian chow mean, yummy fries that tasted just like triple Os, potato salad. The pop and coffee are included too, refillable pop is always a bonus. They had a huge selection of desserts: jello, granola, cake, apple cobbler and pineapple cake. My date decided to indulge on the meat lasagna, fried chicken, sweet corn, mashed potatoes, veal and roast beef. We had a great time, finished the meal with ice cream which we helped ourselves to from the soft serve ice cream machine and loaded it with caramel and chocolate sauce. Uncle Willy''s is a great place for those who appreciate decent food and enjoy the little things in life.We will be back!

Las Margaritas1999 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver
We are never coming back for dried out overspiced couscous looking rice & nuked refried beans stuck to the plate like glue
Submitted Thursday, July 19, 2012 - 5:27pm [Dine in]

Today a friend and I decided to check out Las Margaritas because we had heard positive things about this place. We were seat promptly. The free nachos and salsa they gave in the beginning were alright. My friend ordered a taco salad it was okay but they charged $2 extra for beef in the salad and another $2 for beef in his burrito. I had the 4 chimis for $6.55 which came with a teeny tiny guacamole which were okay tasted.

But it was our entrees that made us never want to return, both our entrees came with dried out rice if you can even call it rice, it looked more like couscous that was cooked in tomato juice and had chilli powder sprinkled all over it. Also the refried beans were rock hard and stuck to the plate. We complained to the server who substituted the dried out beans with black beans which looked like they came straight out of a generic can with no flavour whatsoever the chef seemed to warm them up and cover them in feta cheese to make them look presentable.

My salad was just pieces of lettuce covered in feta. Apparently feta is suppose to add flavour to bland tasteless food. I did not know Mexican food consisted of feta cheese til I ate at this location. Well the server did not make the food the chef did, so out of pity we left her a tip, and before leaving we filled out a survey to let them know what needs to be improved.

So many options, it was so hard to choose an item

So I decided to give this place a try because I had a 50% off coupon from the entertainment book, upon entering I was greeted by really friendly people who were willing to answer all my questions. I ordered a pretzel type bun for breakfast it had leeks, onions, potatoes and cheese it was really good. They don't have many tables I was lucky to get one that was available. They have so many pasteries, everything looked so fresh and mouthwatering. I will be coming back!

Very delicious cupcakes worth the price
Submitted Monday, October 31, 2011 - 10:16pm [Dine in]

We went here for dessert, they have so many cupcakes to choose from. I felt like a kid in a candy store. My favorite is chocoholic, the girl behind the counter was really nice she accepted my 2 for 1 coupon without no problem. I had the root beer cupcake, a cheesecake one. Next time I wanna try the tiger ice cream cupcake. I will be back! The place reminded me of that tv show where they make such beautiful cupcakes. One normal sized cupcake is $3.30 with tax but totally worth it.

The place is great, despite the negative reviews I read on here before going
Submitted Tuesday, October 25, 2011 - 11:28pm [Dine in]

I went on a Monday my partner and I decided to check this place out because we had the 2 for 1 entertainment coupon, once arriving there at 6pm we were seated right away, our server was really nice and attentive. I guess it's better to go on a week night. I was kinda scared to go after reading such bad reviews for all 3 locations but after my experience I can only say good things. I am a vegetarian and they had so many vegetables there I loaded my bowl with bean sprouts, water chestnuts, bamboo, bok choy, baby corn, beans, carrots, celery, chick peas, scallions, red onions, tofu, thin noodles, and my partner had the meat bowl, his total was $11 and my bowl was full and it only cost around $14 I tried the garlic sauce on my bowl which the chef grilled. My partner wants to try the bison next time we go there and I will not load up on the noodles instead i will try different sauces, and but more tofu and beans in. Because they give you free soup, a choice of brown or white rice and wraps that's alot of carbs right there, I couldn't even finish the rice I took it home. The corn chowder is better than the sweet and spicy soup because my partner had a coughing fit after one sip of that. Next time we will both opt for corn chowder, brown rice and more meat for him and more vegetable protein for me. At the end of our me they gave us fortune cookies, I didn't know they had fortune cookies in Mongolia and they even serve Miso Soup which is more of a Japanese dish than Mongolian.I left happy and full and even had leftovers for the next day so I will be back.

A Great Place
Submitted Wednesday, September 7, 2011 - 4:00pm [Dine in]

I love to go to Fresgo Inn for cheesecake, which I can never finish. They have really good veggie burgers too! I took a friend here on Labour Day, he ordered a bacon cheese sandwich, while had a veggie burger, when he saw the size of my burger he wished he had gotten what I got. Also, the portion of yam fries that I got was huge and well worth the extra two bucks to upgrade. I will be going back again and again. Next time I will get my burger without mayo, I find it was a bit slippery, other than that I enjoyed everything.

Very small gem on Broadway street, worth trying out!
Submitted Sunday, August 1, 2010 - 10:07am [Dine in]

A friend and went to this place on saturday, because we had the entertainment coupon for buy one entree get one free. The server was really nice, informative and accepted the coupon with no fuss. We opted for the veggie nutburger which neither of us had tried before. It came loaded with pickles, tomatoes, onions, sour cream and salsa is so healthy. Also, the side salad portion covered the side of the plate, it was really good salad greens with green pepper, onion, chick peas and sunflowers seeds. We left full and satisfied will definetly be going back.

Went back after 5 years and noticed it is going downhill
Submitted Sunday, August 1, 2010 - 10:00am [Dine in]

The food is going downhill, we ordered palak paneer and shahi paneer with potato onion naan and rice. The rice was really good. The shahi paneer was alright and the palak paneer was bland no flavour at all. Also, the portions have gotten smaller. The prices for naan are sky-high over $3 for one potato naan is ridiculous. I left disappointed, left a tip because the service was good but the food wasn't.

Best Palak Paneer and Garlic Naans ever
Submitted Friday, September 4, 2009 - 1:11pm [Dine in]

I know this place may be a bit expensive than the other Indian restuarants located near by. But the food is worth the price. I ordered Palak paneer it cames with so many pieces of paneer and was thick and well flavoured. The garlic naan was soft and edible. My brother had the tandoori chicken which he enjoyed. The restuarant is pretty extravagant and worth a visit if you want to try high quality Indian food.

I just went there last night. This is a new place. They have middle eastern, Greek and Mexican food. The smoothies are delicious too. The owner was very friendly and the decor is nice. The place is very clean and has a patio. My favorite is the pita pizza they make before your eyes. I will be going back.

The worst food I ever had in my life
Submitted Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 11:20am [Dine in]

I went there on Boxing day around 7pm since all the other places were closed and about to be closed. I had no choice but to check this place out. I ordered a veggie burger with fries. Instead the server brought us veggie sandwiches on foccacia bread. The sandwiches were cheap looking (only had a small slice of camembert cheese, a cucumber slice, a grilled eggplant slice, and tons of butter and NO VEGGIE PATTY) and I could have stayed home and made a better tasting sandwich.

Also, it seemed like the cook took the fries and dumped a can of salt on them my friend didn't bother eating his fries, the appetizer was really disgusting too it was bruscetta with vinger and small tomato chunks. My friend and I have decided to never return to this place.

Needs employees who understand the customer
Submitted Sunday, December 21, 2008 - 6:36pm [Dine in]

Considering the place has a lot of ESL students working under the table the service is pretty bad and they get your orders mixed up. They do not seem to care much about the customer. The pizza slices have decreased in size and they do not heat up the slices for you like most places do. So if your slice is cold you must eat it how it is.

Also it seems like they don't have enough room in the kitchen and they are more concerned with talking to eachother in Turkish than serving the customer.

This place has underaged girls dressed up like prostitutes. I don't need to have your cleavage in my face while i am eating thank you very much. What kind of a parent allows their teenage daughter to be degraded like that?

The food is overpriced I ordered a veggie burger and fries only to find out the bun was dry and the patty tasted like cardboard. They don't ask you how everything is and act like they are too pretty to break a nail and care about you. It's a great place for single guys who need eye candy but being a girl I don't want to go there.

Best Poutine ever and best potato pizza ever
Submitted Sunday, December 21, 2008 - 6:14pm [Dine in]

The pizza is sometimes cold depending on how long it has been sitting in the window. I really enjoy the pesto pizza and the potato vegetarian pizza. I have brought my friends here on numerous occasions and will continue to do so.

The owner speaks 7 languages and makes an effort to connect with the customer. He is from montreal and knows how to make real poutine not of that heat and eat stuff you find at fast food restuarants.

Also, now they have falafel and middle eastern food here. There is a Lebanese chef that prepares food infront of the customer. This place is two restaurants in one. I get a free poutine every time i bring in a new customer.

Great for meat eaters not so much for Vegetarians
Submitted Sunday, December 21, 2008 - 6:07pm [Dine in]

Their vegetarian selection is limited they told a noodle dish was vegetarian so I ordered it only to find out later that it had small chunks of egg in it. I was horrified. Now I just order the stir fried vegetables.

It is a pretty elegant looking place. Very high class and you feel like you are in Asia. I've been here for birthdays and pre fireworks dinners. It's a nice affordable place.

I like the free bread and butter they give you and you can keep getting more bread. Also, a choice of ice cream or coffee is included if you ordered a main dish. My favorite is the Spumoni Ice Cream!

I had vegetarian lasagna, cheese bread and a cookie monster shake and i was impressed by the flavour all of these foods were great. However the salad was just a bunch of vegetables (carrots, lettuce, radish, and cabbage) thrown together not very well with presentation the downtown location has a better salad with spinach, apple and almonds.

Submitted Sunday, December 21, 2008 - 5:46pm [Dine in]

Being from Delta I decided to go check this place out a few years back. I have no complaints, the donuts are fresh and always stocked. Unlike other franchises that turn you back and don't make fresh batches by the hour. This place is really cares about its customers.

I just love how they are hot and fresh so heavenly.
