I feel this is Whistler's second best sushi restaurant after Zen but it's prices are much more reasonable than Zen's. Not somewhere for a romantic setting though, but an excellent choice for lunch. I have been here many times and each time the sushi cuts are fresh and top quality.
The amazing mango rolls were my favorite dish and must be tried!
I have probably tried about 40 sushi restaurants in the lower mainland including all in Whistler but Zen in Whistler had by far the best sushi I have tried.
Everything I ordered was excellent, I was blown away as each dish arrived and was consumed! Service was good too.
The prices are however extreme for sushi, but imo worth it for the experience!
Have been here with the wife a few times now and just wanted to say this place has an excellent ambiance, service and setting, top quality given its less than optimal location.
As an Italian I can say for sure the food is no way authentic Italian - more like modern west coast with an Italian flavor.
The portions are TINY and after a 3 course meal I was left hungry. This is one of those restaurants that serve small portions but at 4x average prices - much like the other restaurants under the same ownership (West, Araxi - with Araxi being the best imo).
All in all, if you want to impress your partner this is a good spot, but for food lovers I would suggest Don Francesco's - which is located just a few blocks away. The service there is also excellent but the food is the Best Italian in Vancouver I have tasted so far and you also get singing and music.
