Award-winning architecture, prime location, good-looking waiters, waitresses and bartenders. Judging by appearances, Watermark cannot be anything less than a hit. But, many are calling it a miss. I had the Watermark salad to start and had the red snapper (in bouillabaisse) for entree. Both were delicious. The food is definitely a hit. What bothered me was the physical sensation of being there. The music was painful to listen to. It needs to be light-years more sophisticated/ cutting-edge/ etc... And, it was so stuffy. I felt like I was travelling in an overcrowded third-class carriage on a rickety train. It's UNCOMFORTABLE to dine there. So, there you have it: Watermark is at once a hit and a miss.

Definitely NOT "ordinary Indian food" as another reviewer puts it. There wouldn't be perennial long line-ups if the food was anything less than outstanding. It's noisy, but it's part of the fun. I've tried many Indian restaurants in London and Paris. Vij's in Vancouver is still at the top of my list. Indian cuisine doesn't get better than what you get at Vij's.
