Peking Restaurant & Wonton House5939 E. Hastings, Burnaby
Great for take-out
Submitted Thursday, March 11, 2010 - 1:09pm [Dine in]

Delicious food for a quick take out meal. I always get the Combination dinner for 3 which is $30 and comes with Chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, beef and brocolli, 3 spring rolls, almond chicken and I will usually add some vegetable chop suey. It is always ready and waiting for me when I go to pick it up. Employees are always friendly.

Used to be good but now it just doesn't seem worth it

This place used to be one of my favorites and I would frequent it at least once a month. They have recently raised their prices making the price go from expensive to ridiculous. I can't justify the cost anymore. Also, when you order the chicken wings, they give you the tips of the wings and count that as one peice. Very tacky and stingy on their part.

Cafe Il Nido780 Thurlow Street, Vancouver
Really horrible salmon
Submitted Thursday, December 4, 2008 - 5:47pm [Dine in]

My friend and I went to Il Nido for the first time last night. The ambiance of the place looked nice, except for the fact that we were the only people in the place other than a host and a server.

The bread with olive oil, balsamic and sea salt that they bring to your table was good. Our appitizers were very good, we were impressed with them.

We were looking forward to the entree, however, we were disappointed. My salmon was incredible small, dry and you couldn't even cut into a large portion of it, it was stringy and tough to cut, like it had been sitting in the back of the freezer for FAR too long. My friend said that her fish stew was decent, but not out of this world.

Overall, we left not completely full and feeling a little ripped off. We won't be back.

Veyr tasty food
Submitted Wednesday, July 26, 2006 - 11:24am [Dine in]

I've been to Kam's Place twice so far and can't wait to go back! The ambiance is really nice. I love the fact that they have the 2 for 1 coupon in the Georgia Straight so frequently, it really makes your meal there a bargain.

My favorites are the orange chicken (delicious!) and the hicken lettuce wraps

The service was decent, not the best, but not bad either and Kam himself came up to our table both times to make sure that everything was ok and that we were enjoying our dinner.

Overall, I'd say they have good dealsm good food and good ambience. I'd reccommend it.

Afghan Horsemen Restaurant, The1833 Anderson Street, #202, Vancouver
One of the overall best places for a great dinner
Submitted Tuesday, July 25, 2006 - 12:36pm [Dine in]

The ambiance, service and food at the Aghan Horsemen is inredible. The servers get to know the regulars by name and really make you feel welcome. (Michael is the best server, by far)

We always order the Horsemen platter for two. I will never figure out how they make the chicken and lab so tender and tasty. Also, the potatoes with the dipping sauce is amazing.

Sitting on the cuchions on the floor is a comfortable way to eat, it's really cozy. the music they play is great.

Overall this is mine and my husbands fav Vancouver restaurants and we keep coming back, year after year, month after month
