First time there. First thing to say it is very clean for a typical Indian.
Didn't really try any of their sweets except for the Kulfi which was very good so maybe the sweet side of things is their forte.
The South Indian stuff - Dosa, Idli, Vada etc were not bad at all - perfectly passable though have had much better South Indian.
The North Indian food - pakoras, samosas, chole batura etc were perfectly fine and not particularly oily which was good - again passable but not outstanding in any way.
The Chinese stuff was really poor - The Gobi and Paneer Manchurian possibly the worst I've ever had in my life - so sour. The Tamarind rice wasn't much better. The noodles were so so. Maybe the Chinese food is supposed to be on the sour side but think they have got it wrong with their sauces as it seemed over vinegary.
Service and courtesy very good and the waitress was forever smiling which was nice. So overall I'd say ok but I'd avoid the Chinese side of the menu if returning.

Reserved a table for 10 the day before. Arrived on time for no table reserved in my name. Restaurant wasn't full so they joined an odd shaped table to form a table for us. After we ordered starters the complimentary papad arrived - they were stale so after pointing this out a new batch came out - they weren't even cooked ie:raw.
Sent these back - third set did not arrive ......fortunately!
Half the starters arrived. Very poor to say the least and tiny tiny portions. The mushroom starter for example consisted of about 6 mushrooms which for about $15 is $2.50 for a button mushroom.....no they weren't portobello mushroom size! Samosas were oily and worse than the 50cent ones you get in surrey hole in the walls.
We upped and left. Manager was fine. He apologized and didn't make us pay but really disappointing when you have a big group and had expected more. Lord knows how there are any good reviews for this place. Our friends who are local and have visited before several times did tell us this was particularly poor and they are better when they are busy for their buffets.
I would describe myself as an experienced Indian restaurant goer having been to many here in BC and moreso back in the UK where the standard is way higher but this was amongst the worst experiences ever. Maybe this was a one off bad day for the restaurant - I can't comment on that but I wouldn't return for sure.

Now, I'll preface this by saying I used to live in London, UK so I know what a good Indian is and this was the best Indian in Vancouver area by far. I'd been there many times and always thought it was great and written good reviews elsewhere about it.
Recently however am sad to say our last visit fell way short of expectations. Yes, it was a Saturday night and the place was packed (as usual). Service, Decor was good but the food was way below par. Chaat Papri was very average, Palak Paneer was very very average and the Garlic Naans just tasted like they were out of a packet. Now I'm sure most of you can tell the difference between a Naan that is could in a Tandoor and one that is out of a packet and I certainly can. I question the waitress and she informed me that it is from the Tandoor. Not wanting to cause a scene etc I let it lie. I've had the Naans here many many times and this was way different and tasted like the PC Garlic Naans at Superstore(I've had those many times too!)I can only think that given that it was so busy they were using the tandoor for the meats and decided to speed things up by giving people packet Naans. It would be my only explanation but that is just not acceptable IMO for an above average price Indian restaurant. The Paneer Tikka was as normal very good.
I like the restaurant having given it good reviews before but I don't like gettting treated like a chump which is how I felt after this visit. I'd like to hope this was a one off but it wouldn't be the first restaurant once it got busy/popular/recommended to start cutting corners - hope this is not the case.
