great experience
Submitted Saturday, April 25, 2009 - 8:09pm [Dine in]

My partner and I went for the first time at incendio last night. The experience was enjoyable, the atmospher and the value were excellent.
the service was good but the waitress was a bit odd. I had finished my plate first so she went to take it while my partner was still eating. After a while, the waitress came back to check if the second person had finished her plate but she was still neebling on some bread. At the exact time, she asked her if she wanted something else, and when no answers were given as her month was full, she continued with: "just the bill?"
With surprise, my partner gave a sign of yes even though she was still eating. 3min later, the bill was on table! It was around, 10.30p and maybe it was the end of her shift, but the kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable. I felt, I needed to pay right away when i was actually wanted to share a dessert with my partner.
I would still go back as the rest of the experience was great, but I might not invite "my parents or parents in law" to this place as I would hate then to feel pressuarise.

Death by Chocolate1598 West Broadway, Vancouver

Good evening,
i have moved to vancouver not long ago and always wanted to stop to death of chocolat. Finally today, i made the time to do it. We walked in and the food case was great with expansive choices. My partner only wanted a drink and obviously a hot chocolat. As funny as it sounds, it was uneasy to find the " hot chocolat" on the board menu. The first advertisement is Coffees. then, we finally decided what we wanted so we moved to the counter, my partner asked for a halzenut hot chocolat, the person behind the counter did get what she asked so she nicely brang the box (the same kind of box i've got at home!) to confirm that it's the flavor she wanted.
We have enjoyed our short stay at the shop. The shop is colourful, the music was superb but going to the death of chocolat was, at least in our mind, a treat. But instead, we had only 4 choices of "hot chocolate" and the fact that we've been show the box of chocolate as impact our view of the store/brand.
I would still go back to the store as the atmospher was nice but I would not expect this great "chocolaterie" but a coffee place where you've got 4 "hot chocolate" choices. And yes, good looking desserts.
