We went there for dinner on Sunday night. Had the medley of cold seafood - lobster, crab, oysters, mussels, sushi, sashimi - to start. It was fantastic. The marmalade sauce was a bit odd but everything else was very fresh. My husband had the lobster flat bread which was a bit cold but they were very generous with the lobster. I had the fried halibut with lobster mash potatoes. It was delicious and once again they were generous with the lobster. I've been to other restaurants where they give you a morsel of lobster in lobster dishes. We had an assortment of desserts - lemon tart, brownie, carrot cake and chocolate dessert which tasted like a Crunchie bar. It was a great experience. Our waiter and other staff were attentive and we never felt we had to wait or felt rush. I'll be back to try the Sushi Tile and hot food medley next time.
I've been here at least 20 times. The food quality isn't great but you get a lot of food for $20. Their beef teriyaki roll, yam tempura roll (if fresh) and california roll are decent value. I do think that they put too much crab in their california roll. Their tuna and salmon sushi/sashimi is edible but not fresh.
I live in White Rock and I get my husband to get me take out. I usually get the wonton soup (no noodles), sliced beef fried noodle and fish congee. I've tried other fried noodle dishes and the beef brisket but it wasn't great. I've eaten a lot of Chinese food in my life and their wontons and fish congee are amazing. Sometimes they answer the phone in Cantonese but just speak back in English.
Found hair in one of my sushi pieces. Showed waitress but she didn't care. Awhile later she brought me out a replacement piece. I've eaten here a few times and the food is always not great. It is a pretty popular restaurant because it's the only Japanese one on White Rock Beach strip.
I had heard good things from a friend about this restaurant. The rolls made by one chef were horrible - it looked like a child had made them. The sushi made by a different chef was quite a bit better. The server didn't get me my remade roll in time so I asked her to take it off the bill. She did but she wouldn't have if I hadn't asked.
