Disappointing
Submitted Friday, January 1, 2010 - 11:55am [Dine in]

We went here for our New Year's Eve dinner and I was not impressed. I wanted to try this restaurant after reading all the reviews. The food was good but the service was horrible. I was most upset about the server telling me that she could not accomodate my food allergy. She didn't even bother to ask the cook if he could...it was a straight "No". I will not be going back to this place. Dinner was a huge disappointment to say the least.

I've been looking for a good vietnamese restaurant in burnaby for quite a while. Am I ever glad I decided to try this place after reading all the reviews. This is my new favorite vietnamese restaurant. The value is excellent and the food is as well. The lady serving us was really friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returing and bringing others as well. The best part is that it's close to home.

Expensive dim sum
Submitted Saturday, January 24, 2009 - 10:38pm [Dine in]

I went for dim sum at this place for the 1st time. Looking at the menu the prices seemed very reasonable that is until the food came. You get very small portions for the price. Most of the dishes we ordered were $2.75. I would rather spend my money on a better dim sum place with bigger portions for that amount of money. The congee was good and that's about it. Will not be returning again.

good pizza
Submitted Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 10:21am [Dine in]

The pizzas are good but I was expecting great pizza with all the hype about Papa Dave's. The pasta was good as well. I will return again if i'm in the area but I prefer my usual pizza place. The service was not great. I waited quite a while at the counter before the lady took my order and in the middle of taking the order she answered the phone and had me waiting another 5 mins. In the meantime a line up formed behind me.

awesome
Submitted Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - 9:18pm [Dine in]

This is the only greek restaurant I go to now. I've tried other places but they haven't been as good as My Greek. The kalamari is good and not greasy at all. The chicken souvlaki is cooked to perfection...always juicy and full of flavour. I rated the ambiance a 2 because I find that it's always so noisy in there and it's hard to have a conversation.

A great place for chinese fast food. If you're looking for quality chinese food this is not the place for you. The food is good and they serve it pretty quickly after you order. Don't expect much on the service side. It is a fast food restaurant after all. I wonder how often they clean the place. It's pretty dirty and I avoid using the washroom at all costs.

Pretty good value
Submitted Monday, September 15, 2008 - 12:19am [Dine in]

I have been coming here for dim sum for a while. The dim sum is decent and reasonably priced...it's a little on the greasy side. I've also been here for dinner a couple of times and did not like the food. It's a little over priced for what you get. The restaurant could be a lot cleaner. The last time I went here for a family dinner I saw a huge cockroach climbing up the wall not too far from where we were seated. Unfortunately we had already placed our order and could not leave. The kids were petrified and the adults were disgusted. When the food arrived I had a hard time choking it down. We have not been back for dinner since. We still stop in for dim sum once in a blue moon. I figure it's safe to eat the dim sum since every thing is steamed or deep fried.

Good pizza
Submitted Sunday, September 14, 2008 - 11:51pm [Dine in]

Round House has become our new favorite take out pizza place. Not only is the pizza really good, they load on the toppings as well. They use quality ingredients...everything always tastes fresh. The owners are very friendly and the service has always been good. We've been looking for a new place to order pizza from and I'm glad that we found this one! Round House is more of a take out restaurant but they do have a couple of small tables. I usually pick up the food and have not tried their delivery service. I like the fact that it's always bright and clean inside.

Samosas
Submitted Sunday, September 14, 2008 - 1:10pm [Dine in]

They've increased the price of the samosas but it's still very good value. I've been wanting to try their samosas for the longest time. They were good but they weren't as good as I was expecting them to be. I've had better ones elsewhere. I've also tried their entrees and have not been disappointed. This is more of a take out place than an eat in and it could be cleaner. I've been here a few times and have yet to encounter the "samosa nazi". The lady isn't over friendly but she isn't rude either.

A little expensive
Submitted Sunday, September 14, 2008 - 12:47pm [Dine in]

After seeing all the rave reviews we decided to try it out. The dim sum was good but I found it to be overpriced. The portions are smaller than what I was expecting. Not very good value for what you get. It would be nice if they offered a little more variety. I would go again if it was not so pricey.

We have been coming here for years and will continue to go. The pasta sauce is a little watery at times but it's still good. They use fresh pasta instead of the dry hard stuff. We have tried other pasta places but keep coming back to this one. Whenever we go the place is packed and there's always a line up. The service is good and the servers are always friendly.

Just plain horrible
Submitted Sunday, September 14, 2008 - 12:02pm [Dine in]

My husband and I had a gift certificate for La Spaghetteria and decided to go there for dinner. The fresh bread was delicious. My husband ordered a caesar salad and it had absolutely no taste. The salad looked and tasted like someone poured water on it instead of the dressing. We both ordered pasta and it tasted no better than the salad. I cannot believe they charge $14 for a small plate of pasta and they don't even use fresh noodles. I ordered the seafood pasta and my husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs. They charge an extra $3 for meatballs. You can't go wrong with the spag and meatballs right?? Wrong! They were tasteless smaller than the size of a golf ball. My pasta came swimming in olive oil and I could barely choke it down. The worst part of the meal was when we were give our bill our server told us that we came for the early bird dinner (we didn't know) and we could NOT use our gift cert. She told us that if we wanted to use the cert she would have to charge us the full price for the meal instead of the early bird price. It clearly said "Gift Certificate" on the top of the piece of the paper we gave her!!!!! I guess they consider their gift cert a coupon and not a gift cert. HUGE RIP OFF!! I definitely will not patronize this rest again even if someone else offered to pay for it. Our server was friendly but the service was pretty much non existant. Save your money and go elsewhere!

I've had better
Submitted Sunday, September 14, 2008 - 11:16am [Dine in]

With all the rave reviews I thought I would try this place out. The staff were friendly and attentive. The dim sum was not what I was expecting. I found most of the items too salty and the taste was a bit off...different from the other restaurants I frequent. The worchestershire sauce was so watered down there was barely any taste to it. I think I'll stick with my usual dim sum places.
