So I have been going to Phoa Hoa for about 4 months regularly. I will never go back. I enjoyed their soup broth although the chicken was always extremely dry. yes the service was terrible but i always went back for a quick fix of delicious noodle soup (cleaned my utensils thoroughly always). however, i visited last week and was extremely disgusted to find a piece of steel wool attached to a small brown stick floating in my soup. horribly enough i was only shocked to find this after i had finished half of my soup. i was so disgusted and embarrassed that i paid the bill and left immediately. never again. i'm so upset that i have to find a new place and one thats hopefully cleaner.

My friend and I had been dying to give the all you can eat buffet a try at this restaurant. Overall, we spent a grand total of 10 minutes in the restaurant. We arrived, no one was there to greet us nor seat us. We finally asked about getting a table and the extremely unfriendly woman pointed us in a direction. After sitting and waiting for a few minutes we decided to go up to the front and ask the woman what the deal is. She told us to eat the buffet if we wanted it or grab a (paper) menu from the pile. We chose to eat the buffet because of the chicken curry and the cheaper price. She never came by to offer us any drinks or for that matter anything from the menu. The plates were filthy, each dirtier than the next, the glasses were plastic and the cutlery resembled those which are found in a school cafeteria, even dirtier. Reluctant to eat, we tried the chicken curry, rubber cubes of chicken in a tasteless creamy sauce. I couldn't even bring myself to try the mango chutney, my favorite part of indian cuisine. And, when I just peeked into the disgustingly presented container of chutney, i touched the spoon which was unbelievably sticky - but i couldn't be bothered to visit their washrooms to wash my hands, i could only imagine what they were like. We only ate the tasteless basmati rice and the naan bread because we were paying 11.95 for the meal. After our meal the unfriendly hostess took our plates away and mentioned that I left all the chicken on the plate and that they specifically put up a sign that says "only take as much as you can eat" and I didn't listen. When I told her that I didn't really like the meat, she argued that it was my second plate anyways and had such an attitude. We couldn't handle sitting in the horrid restaurant, dark, dreary and dirty, any longer, so we got up to pay. The lady said nothing except our total. It is the FIRST time I have never tipped. I was about to warn the people waiting to be acknowledged to go elsewhere and save their money, but I was too angry, and thinking back to it I wish I did. NEVER VISIT THIS RESTAURANT. It is a waste of time and money. We went to McDonalds on the way home. And I'm not the biggest McDonalds fan either!
