Penang Delight Cafe3885 Rupert Street, Vancouver
The First Excellent Malaysian Restaurant in my neighborhood.

I like Malaysian food but I always had to drive to DT VCR or New West to have good Malaysian food then I found Penang Care a few month ago. I've been there twice and they were both very good experience. I especially liked Mango Fish and Pegang Laksa noodle. I found Sambal source was a bit too salty. Try White Coffee if you like sweet and creamy. All of waitress and waiters are quick and get us what we want. I highly recommend Penang cafe to my friends and families.

Sushi Kimura3883 Rupert St., Vancouver
The Real Kitchen Nightmare Experience
Submitted Friday, March 18, 2011 - 9:52pm [Dine in]

I went there with my husband on Friday night. We were being patient on 40 min waiting. We ordered Chirashi Sushi, 4 kinds of Yakitori ( skewered Chicken ) and Curry rice with pork cutlet. It was very painful to hear the head chef nagging waitresses all the time. They finally served our food after another 40min. Chirashi sushi was OK. Yakitori was all dried up not nearly close to authentic Japanese Yakitori. Curry tasted like Japanese Instant retort packed Curry. I felt like I wasted my $50. They are not used to manage the restaurant when it gets busy. I really felted like I wasted my $50.

The Best Shanghai Xiao Long Bao.
Submitted Saturday, March 6, 2010 - 11:57am [Dine in]

This place is a part of food court in Crystal Mall. They serve authentic Shanghai Style Xiao Long Bao. It's Juicy and Flavorful. I've tried Xiao Long Bao at many restaurants in Vancouver but they always had unpleasant pork flavor Except this place.

I believe the Xiao Long Bao was $3.75 for 6pcs.

It's in Food court so Don't expect good ambiance but certainly Great Value.
It worth to try.

As Good As It Gets in Tokyo.

Yesterday was my first visit to this brand new Ramen Noodle Place, still few days ahead of Grand New Opening. The interior was nice contemporary looking with Open Kitchen. Waitresses were well mannered.

I ordered "Shio(Salt)" as it was recommended by the waitress. I was skeptical about her recommendation because this restaurant uses Pork Born Broth and "Shio" can be very stinky if they dont make good soup.

My husband ordered "Miso (Japanese Bean Paste)" and our friend ordered "Kara Miso(Spicy Miso)".

It didn't take long to be served. I tried a scoop of soup first. OMG! It didn't stink at all. It's actually mild and flavorful. The noodle was perfectly Al dente. I tasted the Miso too but My "Shio" was the Best.

I was also impressed the waitress opened the door for greeting when we were leaving.

Tokyo is famous for Good Ramen but I no longer need to go back to Tokyo for Having Good Quality Ramen. I really hope they will maintain this high quality.

I love Vancouver! Thank you "Santouka".
