Best Place So Far In Vancouver - I am digging Vancouver
Submitted Tuesday, September 7, 2010 - 4:25pm [Dine in]

We ate at Cats Socialhouse during the weekend. I am new here but I am really digging it already. Way better than anything back in Australia. Service was quick and friendly. Our waitress was cute and perky, with a short black dress (this establishment seems like a place where businessmen hang out for dinner and might appreciate an attractive staff). We asked to see the menu, which we had viewed on the web. This was not given to us along with the wine menu, and the waitress was happy to bring it over and explain it. We started with the noodles. I had the steak and my girl had Shrimp. For dessert, pie. We were quite pleased with our selections, and the price ($69 for two, including starter and dessert) made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Great staff. Worth it.

I am hooked
Submitted Tuesday, September 7, 2010 - 4:14pm [Dine in]

I knew nothing about Northwest Pacific food until we went to Aqua Riva for a good time last week. I was blown away by the flavourfulness of the food and completely changed my mind on some things that I have always hated. I loved their soup, their fish, their succulent pork ribs, etc etc. I came back a converted man.

So I was excited to find that Aqua Riva gets good reviews on dinehere.

Typical of Vancouver, diners ate really really early. The restaurant was filled when we got there at 7 Wow.

The decor was modern and cozy.

The four of us shared a plate for 6. My girlfriend and I each had a cup of soup. The perfect balance of tanginess and sweetness along with some little tasty onionettes in them. I can picture myself craving this. Girlfriend's girlfriend got garlic soup, which tasted and was great. Weird looking! We all shared the beets salad.

For entree, I decided to get the mushroom and fish which was really an appetizer. They were so good! Another thing I will crave in the future.

All food came with veggies which makes it more value. My girlfriend was getting pissed that I kept on reaching over with my fork for her salad.

No room for dessert. That's how filling it is. And the prices were in the $20 range.

Price is reasonable, service is friendly and efficient (and me and the other male patrons really like the cute blonde waitress which is not surprising) and very very worth trying.
