Drinks were good, but nothing else was.
Submitted Tuesday, November 9, 2010 - 10:50pm [Dine in]

Just came back from Japas Bistro about an hour ago after using our Indulge Living vouchers. The two blended honeydew drinks we received were tasty, but the rest of the meal went completely downhill. The beef short ribs were flavourless as was the Japas Karaage. Although each of the dishes was piping hot, it could not make up for their boring tastes. Service was good, but not great. The waiter would often come and go without completely listening to my questions and orders. Won't likely be coming back.

Not the best Dine Out Vancouver experience
Submitted Tuesday, May 4, 2010 - 2:31pm [Dine in]

Went to Aqua Riva last night with my girlfriend for Dine Out Vancouver. Of the three courses, the appetizers were definitely the best. The main courses, rib-eye steak and salmon, were quite bland and quotidian. The desserts were average as well.

As for the service, we wanted to suit in the lounge to watch the hockey game, and we tried to sit next to each other facing the television. As we were both seated on the booth, as opposed to a chair, the waitress promptly turned our table sideways. This did not leave much room for us to eat. I would have much preferred to have two tables, especially since the lounge was empty at the time.

All in all, this visit to Aqua Riva was nothing special. There are much better restaurants in Vancouver.

Possibly the best Vietnamese noodle restaurant in Richmond

I am always happy to eat at Pho Lan as the food comes out fast and hot. The best item on the menu is the deep fried spring rolls, hands down. The service is not exceptional, but I don't go there for the service. The food and the prices are very good.

Always an enjoyable experience

I have been to numerous Keg locations in the lower mainland, and it was my second time going to this particular one in Surrey. The steaks were top-notch as usual. The service was cordial, and the server mostly left us alone, expect to fill our water glasses. I always leave the Keg satisfied and my most recent visit was no exception. Their steak dinners are an excellent value.

Went to HK on a friday night. Had a couple of drinks that were barely average. The pizza and the pasta were both tasty and filling. Not too much in the way of desserts on the menu, but a lot of selection for appies and entrees, both spicy and non. I could not even finish the 11 inch pizza that I ordered. I look forward to coming back here.

Dineout Disaster
Submitted Friday, January 23, 2009 - 10:16am [Dine in]

My girlfriend and I went to Kingston on a Wednesday night to try out their 28 dollar dineout menu. The drinks were average. The steak was flavourless. The salad was covered in dressing, too much for my taste. The desserts might have been the worst part. The bread pudding looked like coffee cake and was rock hard. My one complaint about the service is that when the waiter was putting fresh pepper on my plate, most of the pepper went into my lap. I won't be coming back here.

After hearing positive things from my sister and her boyfriend, I decided to grab one of their menus in passing. I was shocked by the low prices, in particular the lunch and dinner specials. I was told that the food was not of the greatest quality, but the quantity was quite plentiful.

I finally tried this place for lunch yesterday and I was more than satisfied by the chicken strips, caesar salad, and garlic bread for $4.95. I am certainly interested in returning to try more of the menu items, and at such low prices, it won't be a costly venture. They also have daily drink specials at rock bottom prices as well. This place is definately worth a look if you are not into paying fifty bucks for a steak.
