Made a reservation for two for a saturday night when they have live blues.
Good slices of french bread to start. Got our drinks and made our order. The acoustics of where we were sitting were abysmal. With so many people talking around us and the music we were starting to get irritable. We asked to be moved however she said that due to reservations she didn't think it would be possible.
An appy of smokey bbq wings which were very tasty. They came with some kind of chips and a few veggies and a great dill ranch dip.
We did end up getting a table further to the back of the restaurant more away from the music and out of the middle and it was like night and day.
Our server seemed a little out of sorts and was a couple times almost rude. My buddy had ordered another beer and had ended up having to ask if it would be coming any time soon and she replied just as soon as her bartender poured it. She was more careful to be happier when she returned.
Our food arrived. My friend had Jack Daniels baby back ribs on a bed of herbed veggies and roasted potatoes. He gave me a try on the ribs and man were they ever tender and good. I had the chicken and prawn Jambalaya on a bed of rice. It was a little spicy, just like I like it and was a decent meal though I think a little overpriced. It was really good but not fantastic at 17.50.
I also have to admit the food took a bit of time to get out but then it was quite busy and they don't have a whole heck of a lot of servers by the looks of it.
In spite of the few quirks I really enjoyed the food there and had a good time. My friend did too and he's a chef himself and quite enjoyed the meal.
I do intend to return and try their Guinness Stew but will make sure I book a table away from the middle area. ;)
